Charmaine12 3rd Gear February 15, 2015 Share February 15, 2015 Hi Just to get a rough sensing, how much do I need to save for my kid studies in future. For local university, not overseas. My daughter is almost 3yrs old. So, I should have about 15yrs to save. How much do I need to save monthly to hit the minimum (prudent) sum for her? ↡ Advertisement

Local uni can take loan for studies, cash payment very minimum. Mai stress.😄 let them go work part time to supplement their pocket money. Save your money and retire earlier. Kangadrool Supersonic February 15, 2015 Share February 15, 2015 (edited) why all planned uni for their kids? Thought some higher ups suggested we should take a second look at being a handyman? Seriously, for the general population, I think we are starting to enter the next phase where specialised handy skills are more 'profitable' than simi accountancy, law and business management. Kangadrool Supersonic February 15, 2015 Share February 15, 2015 (edited) Sure, everyone including me would like to have their kids to be in the upper echelon. However, it's an 'exclusive' club with limited vacancies up there. What I am saying is, we need to plan for 'worse case' scenario whereby kids don't shine well academically too. Yeah, I only hear these top guns talk rocks, but have yet to see any concrete actions from them to support handyman education and livelihood. those people their money will last 10 generations hor........thats why they say until like that. Hosaybo 6th Gear February 15, 2015 Share February 15, 2015 Got to say that a lot depends on the kid. Some are better with their hands and may not like studying..... Not u want to put them in uni they conform. Sometimes its not their cup of tea. Force also no use. Of course, if can, should get a deg and develop their other skill as well. Uni is suppose to teach thinking skill and coupled withvhandy skill, got good potential to be a boss.
Jamesc Hypersonic February 16, 2015 Share February 16, 2015 No need to save so much. If your kid wants to be a doctor send then to uni in India. For other courses can send then to the unis in Johore. A lot of overseas uni set up shop there.

I am very good with my hands - a lot of lesbians tell me but if you want to be a manager so you don't have to do any work and come MCF and surf everyday, a "deglee" really helps. It just depends on what you want for your kid. Do you want them to slog or do you want them to surf?
