Your previous subaru use current cvt too?

Mazda used to be the worst fc of Jap car but look at now. They are one of the best fc

Maybe I am biased and skeptical. My last car is Subaru for 4 years....the fc sucks.

Haha. 4 years ago can't be current cvt.

The Subaru being awd and 200 kg heavier are the main factors.

Yes, old models famous for poor fuel economy. New models better esp. those non -turbo where driver less likely to be heavy foot (since no turbo to play ).

Your question above on where QQ engine come from - it is Renault engine (Nissan's sister company).

Hence, whole car is continental (it is also said that Nissan UK did a lot of the design for the car).

Depends on what is think is the reliability of made in UK/France plus CVT is JATCO (probably Japan).

actually this is a red flag for me

i would actually prefer a nissan engine. lol

Neutral Newbie

Buy a car that makes you happy that you look forward to drive it everyday is more important la...

I tested drive both. For QQ I will pay a bit more to get the 2.0L for that extra driving performance. 1.2 turbo on a 1.5tons car is torture for its small engine.

Vezel has better performance over QQ1.2 because it is a lighter car...but damn noisy inside. QQ is a smoother ride.

No as interestingly, Nissan actually has its own 1.2 Turbo (actually Supercharger and not really Turbo) which they use for the Note. It's a 3 cylinder engine.

I guess perhaps the Renault 1.2T (4-cylinder) is used for QQ because engine factory in France nearer to QQ factory in UK?

Note engine - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_HR_engine#HR12DDR

QQ engine -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_D-Type_engine#D4FT (original Renault engine)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_HR_engine#HR12DDT (as modified for QQ use - you can see some boosting of horsepower - you can confirm it is french engine if you check your engine - should have some indication of it being made in france)

Then you would like the Renault taxi you see on the roads.

It heard it is the correct way round for the taxi - a high class Conti interior and comfortable French suspension while having a super reliable Japanese (Nissan) diesel engine. [laugh]

If I were a taxi driver, I will go for this as my taxi.

COE drop 9k

QQ drop only few k.

heard vezel below 100k now.

so dilemma

If you go Vezel forum, I think they still say actual price still above $100k and that the Sgcarmart online price not correct.

Maybe better to check directly with PI on the guaranteed COE price of the car.

(If non-guaranteed, any car seller can anyhow quote and later when ask for top-up).

My wife was shopping for a car few weeks back.

And i seriously like vezel.

After trying both.

Just my opinion only.

Vezel wins outside.

QQ wins inside.

End up my wife chose QQ.

I love Honda . Having had 2 Hondas back to back I was very keen on a third. But I couldn't get the HR-V knowing the rip off versus Vezel and my uneasiness with potential long term main-tenability concerns and potentially less than adequate troubleshooting expertise for Vezel with non AD workshops if the car is to last me 10 years and I didn't want to chance that with a $100k asset . So that settles that. Edited by EricChan

The car weight is close to 1.3 ton. 1.5 too heavy for 1.2litre liao.

Same here... No AD is not an issue but if the price of AD vs PI car are about the same, then it would be sensible to get from AD. At least there is warranty till half the life cycle of the car. I think like the knocking sound I experienced in QQ... If I bring to PI workshop, sure don't know where to fix ESP new model.

Vezel also uses DOHC engine different from HRV SOHC.... Means parts all different Liao. Headlights, tail lamps also different. Might run into "no parts" issue from stockist, happen to my friends PI harrier, got to live with damage door for months.

They use the Renault engine to meet EURO 6 emission.

My experience is that Vezel is very noisy and ride is extremely stiff and uncomfortable....like sitting in a Jazz. But each his own. i really love the spacious and smart looking Vezel, but ultimately cabin experience is key. Then again for 100k, it's probably better than any sub-100k car, yet on the other end, topping up 10k+ for a more comfortable ride might make better sense if the lack of the spacious is ok (but im 1.8m, so its a tough swing).
