$440 for progressive lenses mean thr frame is branded [laugh]

my Nike titanium with progressive high index cost $390. Anyway my first progressive spect with Ray-Ban frame cost $600+ [sweatdrop]

$440 is excluding frame. Lens are plastic lens, if I had opted for glass, lagi expensive. Not sure if lens suppliers are raising prices or my worsening asti is a factor but prices are getting ridiculous. My lens used to cost $300 plus. But I checked with another optical shop subsequently and it is about the same price, they even showed me a brochure with the listed price. So guess I didn't get carrot after all.

You also old man like me. Haha..

Got prescription. My sunglass is a ray ban frame and zeiss lens. I think I took the second darkest tint. Lovely stuff.

Like our doc, my home and working glasses also zeiss. [laugh]. So I have 3. Hardly ever need to change my lenses. Worth the 300+ bucks each.

i change to prescription sunglasses.

I got them for my honeymoon for driving in NZ and on the glacier. Rayban frame + prescription glasses. Zzz the plastic of the sidearms are sticky i think due to heat exposure from my old car. But the lenses are still fine.

You have to switch them out though especially when entering a dark MSCP.

sunglasses i cant afford. Lol only Hoya. Anyway seldom wear so it's ok. But my Rayban side arms... but only wear for short periods ok lah. Too expensive to warrant a change now.

If u wear specs, either get sunglasses with prescription lens or wear contact lenses with normal sunglasses, it's too glaring to drive without sunglasses especially if u drive in the direction of morning sun, or setting sun

I also felt like making, but worried that even at this age, eyesight seems not yet stable leh (no thanks to smart phones and tablets....), so hesitant to spend few hundreds and it might only last a year or two...

Yup, am thinking of the need when i go Perth next month. Few years back, when i was wearing an older specs, had a pair of those fit-over ones to go with it, but now new specs is a bit bigger, so can't fit anymore.

In that part of the world, not sure why, but the sun seems lots bigger and brighter  [laugh]

Yup, most days I don't drive under the hot/bright sun too much, but on days when under the sun, the glare is quite obvious...

Oh yes, the sunglasses got polarised one or not? Polarised can remove more glare, right?

How do we know if we are getting Crizal Lens over there? My last pair of  crizal which I got here, comes with papers, or is it cert, can't really recall.

Simple. Just breathe heavily and closely for five seconds onto the lens, they will fog up but not the words "Crizal".

I don't think you can make polarised prescription lenses (i did ask about them), U have to take into account polarised means you can't read GPS screen when driving.

Yeah the sun even in spring in Perth and NZ were way brighter than SG, probably due to the lack of cloud cover there..

Depends whether they have that particular lens in stock or not. If they do, can collect same day too.

Where did you get it from? The last i checked with a shop at city square, marginally cheaper than my usual optician in Singapore. Prefer to support local retailers if they are competitive.

Please pay some commission to MCF, they are also a business. Lol
