Atrecord Supersonic November 17, 2016 Author Share November 17, 2016 My zeiss lens for my sunglasses and they are polarised. I use the drive lens which I think is 50% VLT. http://www.zeiss.com/vision-care/en_de/spectacle-lenses-from-zeiss/sunglass-lenses-outdoor/drive-lens-solutions.html I got no centurion card, so didn't dare get this. Just went to get a pair of fit-over polarised sunglasses at $31.90 over lunch time ↡ Advertisement
Haman Clutched July 21, 2017 Share July 21, 2017 Anyone tried installing nose pad arms to their plastic frame glasses when they keep slipping down ? Any local shops sell or do it here ? Yes, I did on my RayBan RB7056F plastic frame. They will cut away the plastic nose bridge and insert the metal type with rubber pads. Cost me $60.

Kxbc Turbocharged September 20, 2017 Share September 20, 2017 (edited) Anyone tried installing nose pad arms to their plastic frame glasses when they keep slipping down ? Any local shops sell or do it here ? For running? I like the Oakley glasses with rubbery legs and nose pad. Light and non slip. But common complain is that the rubber turns oily and sticky fast. But those parts can be purchased and changed easily. Edited September 20, 2017 by Kxbc

Ender Hypersonic September 21, 2017 Share September 21, 2017 Yeah, partly. Nowadays I see sports brand coming up with frames with rubbery legs and nose pad. For plastic frame usually don't come with rubber nose pads, can install after-market nose pads , drill and screw into existing frame (with steady hands, and good tools). This nose pad like no need drilling. Just stick on.. Never try it, so don't now good or not. http://list.qoo10.sg/item/HIGH-QUALITY-ANTI-SLIP-NOSE-PAD-STICKER-NOSE-SUPPORT-FOR-SPECTACLES/444454225
Lala81 Hypersonic September 21, 2017 Share September 21, 2017 Most importantly is that the frame must be light. Usually if light, no real issues with it slipping down too much. My old MIJ rayban titanum ones are my preferred one to jog in. My newer pair which is also titanum but just bit heavier so do tend to sink down a bit.
Kangadrool Supersonic September 21, 2017 Share September 21, 2017 (edited) Too light also a problem. Will slide down also. Worse, those feather weight ones will shake when encountering "turbulence" - side wind blowings.... causing dizziness. I am wearing Seiko Ti full frame with real glass lenses, 500 deg left and right, no issue with sliding down. More to do with design, sizing and nose pad material used. kdash Supersonic October 20, 2017 Share October 20, 2017 Anyone here wears specs and need to drive in the hot sun a lot? Do you guys wear sunglasses? If so, the sunglasses got prescription lens too? or do you wear those fit over ones? i was considering to make prescription sunglasses recently to wear while driving, and did not want to make transition lens as it gives an "old uncle" vibe (apologies to all the senior MCFers haha...) managed to find this plastic frame from a shop at Queensway Shopping Centre with a magnet-on polarised lens in front. i find this really suits my needs as i can easily put on and take off the polarised lens without too much hassle (as compared to clip-ons), especially when entering/exiting tunnel. i have a non-slip mat on my dashboard for easy access to the lens whenever i need it. only downside is that i must wear this pair of specs whenever i drive as the magnets are on the frame of the specs. i believe many shops around SG sell this kind of lens. i got mine for $150 so its quite affordable. hope this helps.

Is $150 for the frame only? so sorry i didnt mean to offend anyone... but... i still cannot bring myself to make it haha... $150 is for frame (both main frame as well as polarised lens frame) and degree lens. but do note that my short-sightedness is considered quite low (~125 per eye), so may need to top up for higher requirements, eg. Crizal/Zeiss, bifocals/progressive lens, astigmatism...

Ender Hypersonic November 6, 2017 Share November 6, 2017 Got to thank @kdash for the awareness of this type of frame with magnetic clip on shades. That got me to do abit of reserach and shopping. The JKK brands shown are abit on the expensive side, cost about USD40 from aliexpress. I found cheaper alternatives from shoppee and bought the cheapest frame at $10.80. Comes with 5 shades. Only one, the dark one on the top of the picture, is polarised. Confirmed by handphone lcd. Then I bought a Qoo10 high index lens only for $49 (after $10 coupon). Edging is inclusive. Altogether $59.80. But don't expect much from a $10 frame. It's feels fragile. Not strong and firm. But it's light, good for running. From the look at it, JKK should be better quality and nicer design. But uncle like me not so fashionable and mostly abot saving money. https://shopee.sg/product/12990524/106950197/ http://list.qoo10.sg/gmkt.inc/Goods/Goods.aspx?goodscode=506697630
