Vhtfhwlego Supercharged February 9, 2015 Share February 9, 2015 Talking about Alignment......is there a reason why Alfas very sensitive to "alignment"? alfa romeo uses geometry for adjustment in wheel angles during speed for better handling. Also it's over engineered which I think changing of clutch affects alignment due to a bolt to which connects the GB to subframe (which what I heard). Saabretooth 2nd Gear March 2, 2015 Share March 2, 2015 So wheel alignment should be done quite regularly? Any advice? usually after any major work in replacing or undoing any of suspension components or every 10k when you rotate your tires...etc.... but its usually up to individual preference due to their driving style. most people drive out of alignment most of the time anyways... chuaweijm Neutral Newbie March 25, 2015 Share March 25, 2015 Greetings to all. I am just embarking on my journey onto "Alfa-dom", and am hoping from some advice from the experienced bros here. Firstly, which model of Alfa Romeo in recent years have the most "Alfa" spirit in your opinion? Is it the 159, 147, GT, Spider or the newer models eg Giuletta? I am really looking for something with the maximal driving feel and that gives the most involving drive.. So far I have tried only the Alfa 159. I was just wondering whether there is any difference between the earlier vs later models of the 159? Coz I drove a 2007 model, which felt a lot more "raw" and loud compared to the other 2010 model which I drove.. Generally, is the 159 a problematic/troublesome car to own? Does it cause a lot of repair/breakdown issues? Thanks in advance for the advice!
Chrispie 5th Gear March 25, 2015 Share March 25, 2015 (edited) Greetings to all. I am just embarking on my journey onto "Alfa-dom", and am hoping from some advice from the experienced bros here. Be prepared to be stranded on the road Be prepared that you car cannot start Be prepared to pay a few hundred at least for any form of repair, and parts may not be available immediately Be prepared to learn more about this car than possibly other 'normal' cars If you are prepared, and anything happens, it is just part of Alfa ownership. Suck it up and take it as another opportunity to learn about how your car works. My car is getting old and getting more and more problematic in small and big ways, but after 8 years, never once am I bored behind the wheels. If not she will say that you are looking for trouble by driving an alfa :) For yourself...what does your heart says? chuaweijm Neutral Newbie March 25, 2015 Share March 25, 2015 Good point man :) I have only driven the 159, 2 models, one in 2007 and the other in 2010. I really liked the 2007 model, the steering feel is great, the car has a sporty drive and it makes a good noise when heading for the red line. However, when I drove the 2010 model, it didn't feel.. the same. It sounded muted and just didn't give me the same feeling. Is there any difference between 159s which are produced earlier on eg 2007 and those produced in the later years? Or is it just me?
