Ironically, this same formation got into trouble when their training was so tough that some soldiers died in the dunking incident. While we might disagree with their training methods, well, they are the commandoes so it is expected that their training is tougher than normal.

And the commander Noel cheah was removed as a result. Iirc, he was the commander during the hijacking.

Those that died are guards. As for the dunking incident , it is just bad luck and poor mental preparation. As pow , you are suppose to try to survive , not try to act tough and die along the way.

The good part of the show was the great animation portraying the aircraft and the sequence of events. A format or style quiet different from early productions of shows or local documentaries.

Somehow, what strikes me was when it featured the steward describing near the end how the SOF Operator shot the down terrorist with a "Beretta" to finish him.( Oddly as its known knowledge Heckler and Koch were standard issues in that era.)

Either the production crew never research well or they dramatized highly and neglect politically correct words or facts that they allow the steward to shoot his mouth off with inaccuracies and possibly inaccuracies in other scenes as well.

"“You had a bad experience before on this flight number. Now, would you want me to book a seat on this flight?” he remembered his secretary asking. “I said, ‘Yes, why not?’ I don't think lightning strikes twice on the same spot.”

Maybe this Mr. Ong also own this VRN? And the checksum 'H' for 'Heng' :D  :D
