subarudreamer 2nd Gear April 19, 2015 Share April 19, 2015 are these prices from parallel importer or performance motors? heard that X3 sDrive20i is now 201,800. 520i business is now 207,800. But these are non-guaranteed COE packages ↡ Advertisement
Zyklon 5th Gear April 19, 2015 Share April 19, 2015 Do note that buying a premium sedan is not like buying a bread and butter toyota. You do not have to pay extra for "guaranteed coe". The price list will put a low rebate with non-guaranteed coe, but realistically, nobody has ever failed to receive his car because of coe problem. You dare to commit, PML will get your coe for you.

Correct. The gross margin of luxury brand is higher so once you booked you will get your coe. When I bought my audi a3, even though the AD profit margin for this car is probably one of the lowest among luxury brands (i.e only $3-5k instead of the $15-20k more than popular jap/kor BB car) I still got the coe immediately at the next bidding. The SE said sure will get and even said not to waste money getting guaranteed coe option.

If not guaranteed, 190k also can jiat but if guaranteed COE, why should ADs bet their own money COE will drop? I think noone will drop price significantly until we see real drop in COE prices. Next drop should be small but May should be interesting.

Miles 4th Gear April 21, 2015 Share April 21, 2015 ya lor .... event car only give 10-20k discount It's April now. These 5er are most probably YoM 2014 which they need to clear. At that price, probably limited colors. Also they need to clear it before CEV rebate ends by end June. By July, YoM 2014 cars are even harder to clear stock without CEV rebate to offset their cost. Also, nowadays many AD deliver their cars within 10 days after successful COE bidding to reduce DSO (since they only collect full amount from bank or customer upon delivery) and improve AR aging, thus improving cash flow and reduce reliance on high interest short term loan from banks from overdraft facilities and improve margin. ... thereby allowing them to be more competitive in dealing with customers and bring in more volume. Its a virtuous cycle. However, the PDI process could be compromised as a result thereby some unpleasantness during delivery... but sale is achieved, so long term customer service they leave it to salesman to handle, with corporate tools provided to them. As a customer, we can better price, but ultimate short changed on ownership experience if something goes wrong.
