Sosaria Twincharged January 18, 2015 Share January 18, 2015 I feel this ang moh like many others of his kind, behave like that precisely because they think that here the locals are meek, and easily bullied. So it's partly our own fault for encouraging such behaviour, albeit unintentionally, and programmed into us by years of schooling that emphasized obedience and meekness. This ang moh knows perfectly well that if he tried this stunt in USA or his own country, the other guy will come out of the car with a loaded gun. ↡ Advertisement
Fuelsaver Supercharged January 18, 2015 Share January 18, 2015 (edited) Eh... Not commenting on this case, But when you say something like this it sounds very much like you think threatening cyclists, bullying them is a good thing? Is being tolerant to bikes the correct thing to do, regardless of who and where you are? that not what i meant - but cyclist shouldn't travel like cars n motorbikes don't u think so. when in rome (spore), do what rome do mean they should cycle on side of road. yes, being tolerant, whether about bikes or any not so convenient (but not outwardly illegal / immoral) matter, is morally correct thing to do. I gave you 5 praises, for the mere fact that when we are visiting a country, we follow the norms and culture. BUT - I can't agree with the rest of what you say. We should always be trying to improve ourselves, to do better and to be more - benchmarking is a fantastic way of improving ourselves. Unless you can say that you are "satisfied" with the current level of care and concern expressed towards cyclists then I won't say a word. Also, please don't use this single case, of an idiot that over-reacted to "justify" that the current level of behaviour of drivers is ok. This guy that threw the bike over-reacted, and he would be condemned wherever he is - be it here, (I think) in Germany or where I am more familiar - in New Zealand. But he should not be the standard - in the general case, motorists should not be honking at bikes to be "getting out of the way" (lycra clad TDF wannabes blocking the whole road excepted) bro, we honk not to ask them to FO, but just to warn them not to cycle into our lane of travel. like that then cyclist n motorist can co-exist within current carriageway design / system.
