they just confirmed this week's issue will carry the Mhd's cartoon again....

It is a caricature of a middle-eastern bearded face wearing a headgear. Just cos someone says that that drawing is the prophet's, it doesn't become true. Those idiot extremists should stop getting their panties in a bunch cos of this.

How the heck can anyone even know how the prophets from eons looked like? It's not like they took selfies then....

Yeah, you just draw a caricature and say it's someone.

And when you say the wrong thing, you get slain.

This terror chaps are brainwashed chimps..... clerics asks them to blow themselves up, they blow themselves up.

The smart clerics meanwhile continue to live and ask more to die.....

I doubt they would think of achieving any other objectives through their terror acts, other to die and go paradise/hell.

How can you say that?

Chimps are more intelligent than these idiots.

:D

My apologies to the chimps.....

When these extremists / killers finally reach "heaven" but not happy with what they hear / see there, they may also blow up the place. [sweatdrop] [sweatdrop]

The French are asking for more................

A defiant Charlie Hebdo: it’s not the front page the terrorists would’ve wanted, it’s what we wanted

It has been shown by many news organisations, but many others have decided not to print it.

The new edition of the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo features the prophet Mohammad, an act of defiance after the massacre of 12 people by Islamist extremists at the paper’s offices in Paris.

Luz, the designer of the cartoon, told reporters: “It’s not the front page the world wanted us to do. But it’s the front page we wanted. It’s not the front page a terrorist would have wanted us to do – there are no terrorists on there.

“There’s just a guy who’s crying. It’s Mohammed. I am sorry, we drew him again. But this Mohammed is, above everything else, a man in tears.”

And the paper is vowing that from now on it is going to be business as usual.

Gérard Biard, editor-in-chief of Charlie Hebdo, said: “There will be a future for us, that’s for sure. I don’t know yet what it will be like, but the paper will exist. There will be no interruption. This means that in two weeks there will be another Charlie Hebdo in the kiosks.”

Three million copies are being printed for Wednesday’s worldwide distribution in numerous languages, against the normal run of just 60,000.

The two gunmen claim they were avenging the prophet for previous cartoons published by Charlie, which poked fun at every religion and sector of society.

We should discourage people from insulting, disrespecting in the name of freedom of speech. This is arrogance at its worst.

Well well. .for a start.

Many Muslims and Christians find each others holy text insulting and offensive, who should delete?

Or is it a one way street.

Refrain and restrain..there are plenty of space for everyone to practice what they believe, no need to intrude, offend and insult. Agree to disagree without mocking and belittling the other party.

Even though I disagree with your text and believe, I respect your right to practice it.

But their freedom of speech goes beyond verbal and written mocking/insults and to some point abuse on other's belief.

No muslim will find the Injil offensive...the Quran says the Zabur (Pre Torah),Torah (Jews), Injil (Christians) are the Words of God and the Quran is the final Revelation! You will never see a Muslim burning this Holy Books eventhough we believe the 3 later once were have been slightly modified from the original text. You will not even see see and hear any muslim parodying Jesus (pbuh), Moses (pbuh) and any of the prophets because all of them are revered in Islam....you wont even have a muslim making fun of Buddha because there is a verse in the Quran that state that for every nation and creed there have been sent a Prophet and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)is the last and final. The only thing is that some Muslim is critical about the teaching of this Men of God which have been diluted by 'human' hand.

I read a religious article that uses acid as an analogy which I find it apt in this case also on freedom of speech.

It's a bit like inventing an acid so strong that it can eat through anything, and then realizing you have no place to put it: the force of the acid will eat through any possible container. At the end of the day, it destroys everything you have, dissolving down to the center of the earth.

Turbocharged

France is very divided now. The Jews are worrying their own safety and many are leaving back to Israel. The Muslim in France are also worried as they are mistaken as extremists.

The recent killing is not the end but the beginning of hatred among different groups and a boiling point of more such killing to come.

There is a price to pay for freedom of speech if not under restraint or supervision.

Actually since in life there are so many other (positive) things worth talking, writting about, there's no need to go around insulting others who we may not like. There are bound to be something, someone we feel not to our liking, but at the same time there are many more others we like. Maybe it's better to focus on the things / people we like and not spend too much time on the rest. [grin]
