Buying a new E class. Questions on PI workshop & warranty

Tried searching but can't get a comprehensive ans on this. Only managed to get bits and pieces of info here and there.

 

I'm looking at getting a new E Class, not sure E200 or E250. Definitely PI as i find the sales service at CnC not that great and it's too overpriced compared to buying from PI. I have bought from PI before but only jap cars, never continental. I understand the general feedback from most people is that conti cars run on more electronics so there's a higher tendency for conti cars to have abit of electronic issues/replacements that need to be done from time to time even though Merc is supposed to be the best in terms of reliability for conti cars.

 

So i have a few questions as follows:

 

1. Which workshop has one of the best equipment, experience in servicing Merc cars? Can they handle it if there are real serious issues or under what situations can i only turn to CnC for their help? (i hear names like MBM, Auto Spritz, Star Black etc)

2. If i turn to CnC, is the admin fee still $500 or has this changed? What other docs would i need?

3. Is the warranty and the workshop basically the same? Which warranty coverage is generally the most reasonable?

4. I'm not looking to pay the cheapest but just want to pay reasonable pricing to service the Merc. Which workshop would be best?

 

Lastly, is the E250 worth getting over the E200? Seems like from Merc SG website, the specs look rather similar.

What is the difference in terms of pricing between PI and C&C?

 

In terms of drive, better to buy the E250.

It definitely get a peace of mind, worth for value. If u find c&c expensive, i suggest u get second hand few months old c&c

$500? i think more like $20,000-$30,000 for CnC to adopt PI car for servicing or warranty claim ...

if $500 ... everyone will buy PI Merc and go to CnC

PI cheaper by how much?

 

If $10k = dun bother

If $20k = try harder

If $30k = worth a look

If $40k = can consider

If $50k = can buy

 

But whatever price, it's still PI.......

 

Btw, 'adoption fee' by C&C is $10,000 (IIRC) and not $500.

Speak to some other sales rep ... There are good ones.

 

Over Christmas, they had this festive promo which brought the price down to almost PI price. So you might want to wait for promo.

 

PI car cannot be compared $-$ with CnC as the specs are different. The former usually comes slightly better spec.

 

I would not worry about PI car servicing - plenty of workshops outside and parts are plentiful and easy to get. But if this keeps you awake at night, pay for peace of mind and enjoy the ride.

 

I would go for E250 if $ not an issue.

Don't just see list price. Go and talk to C&C sales exec, and offer your existing ride for trade in. Ask them for the financials and you will be surprised. The gap between C&C and PI is not that big.

 

C&C will give over-trade, $5k service credits, 3 years e2e warranty, car freebies like camera and tinting, and MB boutique items.

 

The diffeence in depreciation of C&C E250, PI E250, used E250 not that big when compared over 10 years. Compare 2.0L to 2.0L model. Big difference is when compare 2.0L to 1.8L engine models of E250

$10K only ? this is much lower compare to PML for BMW ...

if $50K saving especially for a high-spec'ed E250 AMG package coupe, can consider buy PI Merc and go to C&C

hi all,

 

thanks for the assistance. I was looking at quite a number of old posts hence the $500 admin fee came up which i guess is really outdated. It is $10,000 for the adoption fee.

 

Also the list price doesn't include the overtrade. Eclass is quite significant - $28,000. Now this changes things significantly. Price difference is about 30-35k between PI and AD.

 

Let's just say if i'm going ahead with PI, which are the better workshops/warranty to look for?

the rest look like zhng shops or calefare shops to say the least

 

i go see one of those there "pro vw workshop" in that "mb specialist" list

 

the pricing like chop carrot and worse than agent, the mechanic standard...dun get me started

 

any ah sia kia can open a workshop for more ah sia kias to go and hire monkeys

 

any workshop that the boss does not get his hands dirty and know how to do engine overhaul is not a workshop

At this price level of cars, different of $20-30,000 in the price works out to about $160-$250 a month

 

if such an amount a month concerns you , my advice is to look at a Camry or Accord

 

as you don't sound confident about buying a PI car.

There are shops out there that claim to be specialists of A - Z types of repairs and services including car sales ownership transfers. They are really jokers / BS kings and definetly not specialists as far as I know. How do you see it.

amk autopoint level 2 most power

 

claim to be specialist in every single brand, and all u see there are poorly maintain kia/chevy all malay

 

another one,... sit at agent be service advisor 10 yr come out also can claim as specialist also

these day the word use too loosely

There is no law on this matter to protect the consumers. High time the authority starts the process to regulate the auto service industry to prevent Tom Dick and Harry from operating shops and claiming to be a professional mech.

I know most are self proclaim ones....Go Riverview auto at AMK. They are specialists too.Very good business

The word MALAY is really uncalled for. We are talking about WS and warranty
