Any rec for fast replacement of HDB main door and gate ?

my mother left the gas on and went out .... neighbours saw black smoke from the kitchen window and called police.

 

police came with scdf and cut my gate and kicked my main door in .... now gotta replace both asap.

 

luckily only a pot was damaged in the whole fiasco.

 

for the time being buy bigger lock to shackle the uncut part of the gate....

 

anyone can advise ?

Try calling town council for help.

most gate and door contractor could replace within 1/2 day and the stock is readily available as our HDB door size is pretty standard.... Just look around from Newspaper and you could find many contractor that could do the job.

called a few ... all said at least 1 week for normal door and 2 weeks for fire door.

 

...even the most popular door-man on the local internet also cannot do it.

Chk with hdb whether yr door has to be fireproof as certain flats far away from lift will be just normal door.

i think i only need normal door replacement as my corner unit is 3 units from the lift/stairway.

what??? 1 weeks? how can it be? I remember 6 yrs ago, i replace 4 classic door (normal door for room) + 1 non fire rated solid wood door. They show me the catalogue, once confirmed, the contractor make a call and confirmed on the spot come next day to install the doors. They didnt even take the measurement of my door frame, he told me that the HDB doors are pretty standard size and the worker cut on the spot before installing. Installation took less than a day for all the 5 doors.

 

think its year end and many factory close during xmas n new year?

Make a trip around sungei kadut,there are some factory ex stock,get ready. Measurement.chiselling done on yr site.

Call your nearest HDB office for contact of the door and gate supplier. Then call them directly for the job.
