I don't think you realize the difference in pressure when the plane is cruising at an altitude of 32,000 feet above sea level, and when the same plane is on land, on the runway.

Exactly. That's why people like you should stick to posting selfies or carrying the balls of wealthy people online instead of making half-arsed suggestions. Do what you're best at :)

At least I don't criticize people or being un respectful. Calling others moron is equally showing your IQ level

Appealing to moral authority or seeking sympathy is the typical response of sycophantic simpletons who are unable to defend their own opinions or arguments, because well, it's pretty much indefensible as you know yourself.

And I think the phrase you're looking for is EQ.... not IQ. And yes - I have zero patience or tolerance for self-indulgent simpletons who goes around sprouting absolute rubbish without basic facts checking or logic.... I'm not sure why my opinion matters so much to you though, because I certainly couldn't care less about you :)

If u read my posting clearly, there are two meanings. One, we don't need a hulk to open d door. Any average man can do it. Second, if d door is open at such height, 32,000ft due to d strong pressure outside, will pull the ppl from d plane out unlike parachute jumper which is at a much lower height. This is clear that I am aware of difference of pressure.

Touche. Wrong context and my apologies. Do note we were discussing the feasibility of parachutes deployment when the plane is at altitude though.

Since QZ8501, there are already 3 incidents involving AA flights, including one.

First one from Penang to Langkawi made a U-turn, another from BKK to Northern Thailand also made a U-turn!

I forgot to add, appealing to rules and guidelines when agitated or throwing a hissy fit is also another common tactic. Especially after trying to be a smart-ass by directing some sarcasm to me but unable to handle the inevitable responses, and then mounting an imaginary pedestal to quote the forum rules and guidelines of humanity to me? Hypocrisy in its most clumsy, transparent form.

Don't expect others to fight your battles for you, and don't try to be sarcastic if you can't take what comes back in your stride, and instead start moaning.

And you know, maybe you should quote the forum rules and guidelines to those who you are constantly worshiping or engaging in a self-jerk circle, but because you're so busy worshipping the ground those folks are walking on, you never bothered to fight for "the basic things that a human should understand", did you.

I do apologize to the overall forum, but only because I bothered to respond to your sarcasm in a thread where only respect should exist.

Jumping out of a plane flying at that speed with a parachute... ppl is sure naive to even think its possible..

read this pls.. http://gizmodo.com/why-don-t-commercial-airplanes-have-parachutes-for-pass-1525770574

Not to mention it's impossible to breathe at that cruising altitude without a oxygen tank. And it's well below -40°C at the same time.

I was really nervous when I took an Air Asia flight back to SG last night, with my wife and daughter. [sweatdrop]

Two weeks ago, I told my wife not to book MH and book Air Asia instead.....saying on record, it's safer than MH.

Then Sunday, during the trip heard the news [bigcry] .

RIP to the crews & passengers of QZ8501

Yes you are right.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_of_useful_consciousness

Most of the flights are about 33-36,000 ft.

Assume that the rapid decompression did not fogged up the whole cabin, and the vacuum like air did not suck out all those occupants that did not wear seat belt.

People have time to put on parachutes.

By the time the 3rd person jumped out, the rest of the occupants would have in state of hypoxia, deep paralysis or dead....including all aircrews and cabin crews.

Regarding the Malaysia secondary radar readings of the flight climb speed at 353kts.

The possibility is the pilot could have been putting the aircraft in steep climb to get out of the weather.

Guess the captain was trying to safe everyone lives till the last moment.

Pray that the aircraft and black box will be located soon. Then there will be disclosure on what really happened. And full closure for the loves one.

The search and locate operation for the missing Indonesia AirAsia flight QZ8501 will expand to land on Tuesday, the chief of Indonesia's search and rescue agency Basarnas told reporters late on Monday.

"Search operations tomorrow will expand to land, to, among others, the western part of west Kalimantan province," said F. H. Bambang Soelistyo at a media briefing in Jakarta.

He said the multinational operation involving from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea would continue in the Java sea past dusk on Monday. Air operations will continue on Tuesday morning.

The plan had been to halt all operations at dusk on Monday, as was the case on Sunday, the day the AirAsia flight went missing en route from Surabaya to Singapore.

"We want the search operation to complete and succeed fast," said Bambang Soelistyo.

He noted that an object detected on Monday morning in the Java sea turned out to be from a personal locator beacon usually worn by rescuers and not the missing jet.

Basarnas was also deploying a vessel to a sea area between Bangka island and Belitung island where there is oil spill.

Bambang Soelistyo said there was no confirmation whether the spill was from a plane. There has also been no sign of debris or any other form of plane wreckage from the air.

"But we are making checks anyway. A vessel is on the way there as we speak," he said.

"Tomorrow search operations will be on the existing seven sectors plus four more - two on land in west Kalimantan province and another two are sea areas south of Belitung island."

Missing AirAsia flight QZ8501: AirAsia confirms debris found by its search and rescue team is that of missing plane

Posted on 30 December 2014 | 8,696 views | 2 comments

Update as of 8.26pm, Dec 30:

Air Asia Indonesia has formally confirmed that the debris found on Tuesday by its search and rescue team in Indonesian waters were from the missing QZ8501 aircraft that lost contact with air traffic control on Dec 28 reports The Straits Times.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, Air Asia Indonesia said the debris were found in the Karimata Strait south west from Pangkalan Bun town.

"We would like to extend our sincere sympathies to the family and friends of those on board QZ8501. Our sympathies also go out to the families of our dear colleagues," Sunu Widyatmoko, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Indonesia said in the statement.

Earlier Report:

Items resembling an emergency slide, plane door and other objects were spotted during an aerial search Tuesday for missing AirAsia flight QZ8501, Indonesian officials said.

Indonesian air force official Agus Dwi Putranto told a press conference:

"We spotted about 10 big objects and many more small white-coloured objects which we could not photograph."

"The position is 10 kilometres (six miles) from the location the plane was last captured by radar."

He displayed 10 photos of objects resembling a plane door, emergency slide, and a square box-like object, reports astro Awani.

It is not really clear... it could be the wall of the plane or the door of the plane, he added.

Lets pray that those objects are what we are really trying to find, he said in Pangkalan Bun in Central Kalimantan on the island of Borneo.

Indonesian TV showed two relatively large objects, one orange and one grey or brown, floating on the surface.

The largest appeared to be several metres in length.

Hopefully we will find something definite because I havent received anything else, an Air Force official told MetroTV, referring to the reported debris.

Other aircraft are still carrying out searches.

A search aircraft has spotted debris 105 miles (169km) off Pangkalanbun, and they now sending a chopper for a clearer look, according to reports.

"These look like items that are not usually seen on sea surface," MetroTV cited Mr Dwi Putranto as saying.

The aircraft was flying 500 feet (152.4m) above sea level. A chopper would allow the team to get a better look, reports The Straits Times.

The debris is in a sea area of 10 sq km to 20 sq km, east of where the plane was last detected on Sunday, MetroTV cited Mr Dwi Putranto.

Sea current direction trend in the area has been easterly, MetroTV reported. AirAsia flight QZ8501 disappeared on Sunday morning over the Java Sea with 162 people on board.

The search is focused on waters around the islands of Bangka and Belitung in the Java Sea, across from Kalimantan.

It's not easy to open a commercial flight door during a flight I suppose, and you risk getting suck into the turbine depending on where you jump out. Moreover, everytime when theres an emergency, flight attendant will ask you to brace.

There's really nothing much we can do when unfortunate event happen to the flight. ..

Think a much easier way... instead of having 3 to 4 hundred of parachute for all the passenger... why not just having a few big parachute for the plane...

When the plane get into distress... the wing will dislodge from the main body... left only the plane body...then at certain altitude, the parachute open....

Space shutter re-entering the earth, it did the same...

of course... it is much easier to say then done...
