A collision between a lorry and a sports car yesterday morning left one driver dead and the other arrested.

The accident happened at about 3am on a slip road on Bukit Timah Expressway towards Woodlands.

It is not known how the two vehicles collided.

The impact was so great that the lorry spun a few times before stopping, Lianhe Wanbao reported.

The lorry driver, believed to be 59 years old, was trapped in his vehicle.

The front of the sports car, which was about 80m away from the lorry, was wrecked, with a fallen bumper and a broken windscreen.

The lorry driver was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene, a Singapore Civil Defence Force spokesman said.

His family members were at the mortuary yesterday but declined to speak to reporters.

The New Paper understands that the sports car driver, who is in his 20s, had minor injuries.

IN SHOCK

He was seen sitting by the road in shock as two friends comforted him, Lianhe Wanbao reported.

It is believed that he initially refused to go to the hospital, but was later sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

He was later arrested for causing death by a negligent act, said a police spokesman.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Supercharged

Roc.. the rear window is the giveaway..

Yup, its a ROC.

Probably it hit the lorry's rear too fast and made it spun, and therefore ROC's front was damaged (back the ROC's rear seems OK)....

Is that a "sports" car?

Comments like this might ruffle some feathers..... So........

The media reports "sports cars" based on One Motoring's classifications aka log card details.

Hope that clarifies.

Is that a "sports" car?

In this elite forum, no, that is a wannabe

In the sensationalistic new paper reporter's eyes, yes, that can be grouped together with the lambos and ferraris

Normal accidents, yes

But with someone 'life' taken away by him, never. Will haunt him every christmas ....

Not easy to forget an incident where a human life is involve even if he drive past other fatal accidents and his memories will struck him immediately..... [sweatdrop]
