Honda Mobilio coming soon

To early to tell but should not be. Its on the new EarthDreams (ED) CVT that is mated to a torque converter unlike Honda's earlier CVT(s).

Yup. Previous Honda's CVT woes are mainly from the start-up clutch. With torque converter, it should be better.

I quite like the idea of a 1.5 litre 7 seater

Might downgrade my odyssey one day

Bro ... have you seen the Mobilio. You will find that the Mobilio is vastly different from the Ody. I was quite excited about the Mobilio when it first debuted but after my trip down to KM ... I am reconsidering. The feel is vastly different!

Fully agree, I registered for the soft launch as was excited too by the Mobilio initially.

Frankly, quite disappointed at the end product when launched.

The things I like about Mobilio is its low price and Honda's reliability, fuel efficiency and performance.

However, I don't quite like its interior.

Yes, agreed. I was seriously attracted to Honda's engine and performance.

But the overall package especially the safety and interior is a let down considering the initial asking price. If only the 3rd row seats can be folded flat for more space.....

saw the Mobilio on Fri afternoon. Am driving a wish now. Compared to Avanza, i would say it is much better and there is decent 3rd row space. @117k, it is a good alternative to Avanza. The gap to Ody @ 162k is too much. Wish is going at 125k now, a very big drop. Given Wish price, i will go for Wish.

Yeah. The safety features or the lack of it were sore points - no traction control and rear drum brakes were glaring, though the rear brakes can be changed after warranty.

The 3rd row seats can fold down 50:50 but the whole bench would have to be folded forward to have flat boot.

My opinion of this car is that it's a good B&B 7 seater MPV. Those on a budget needing an MPV can consider this with Honda name, reasonable price n ticks most boxes. It certainly won't win any awards with its cheapo interior and basic offerings but then again which new 7 seater MPV can we get for S$115k?

This has been Honda's design philosophy, same for ody and stepwgn and jade.

Orlando is priced at this level. Imho, that car is better except for the badge. Hop to the thread to check if keen.

Add another few k can get wish or stream, better interior and finishing

My Indonesian relative also registered for soft launch but upon seeing actual unit, he was disappointed and ended up with Nissan grand livina, I think sg should have this grand livina as I personally sit before for 3 hrs trip and its pretty good car.

Stream no more new model n as for Wish I agree it's a better but I think $8k to $9k more is a lot if u on a budget. But agree Wish is much better!

Pi no longer have is it? Wish is much more spacious compared to Mobilio and it seems like they are at different level of class

Just to add on to my earlier point on Mobilio's lack of traction control.

Mobilio has ABS with EBD which is a standard safety feature for most cars and should be sufficient for those braking and swerving to avoid a cat on the road kind of scenario, where you want to brake evenly to a stop.

Traction control only helps to minimise understeer in hard cornering which is nice to have but probably not as essential in a MPV which is driven mildly.

So from a gentle usage point of view probably the Mobilio's safety feature is sufficient.

Just to clarify in case people think I'm putting Mobilio down unfairly.

AD confirmed no more Stream n as for PI I'm quite sure none as well. Yes Wish is more spacious n a very good mid sized MPV which I also recommended in the MPV thread. So good choice. Don't think Kah will bring in the Jade. It looks better than the Mobilio albeit 2nd row is 2 individual seats.
