More often than not, last row if for shopping bags as boot is small. I am so gonna miss my Edix when it goes to the scrap yard....

Well the last row will be used for kids anyway. None of the last rows are what I call comfy for adults.

The Orlando is the widest and tallest and most solid built. Only thing is not sure about reliability. Consumption sure highest due to weight.

For my mobilio, my wife and son like to sit in the last row, so far, no complaints about being too cramped.

I am thinking of changing to Mobillo too. Any bad reviews? Have not test drive it.

Waiting for COE to drop some more. Lol

4th Gear

The May issue of Wheels Asia magazine has a front cover story on it.

It pretty much sums up the car. The bad points which were not highlighted are the low rent fittings internally with gaps at the passenger airbag dashboard cover.

Hard plastics and rather large panel gaps at the rear boot lid.

Otherwise it is a value for money mini-MPV that does its job.

I have yet to carry it full load but with the short drive with 2 onboard from collection to grooming workshop, it was a smooth and quite perky ride for a 1.5L.

Will comment more as it runs in.

Hi all, it seems like there's not much feedback on this car since May. Can any bros and sis in this forum can kindly provide feedback on this car? Any issues encountered so far of the car? Any regrets getting the car?

I have test drove the mobilio today and quite like the car, though there are a few small things that I am not really happy with, but can live with; the interior is very boring from the driver's side , and the driver seat abit small compared to some other cars tested today(Hyundai Elantra, Kia Carens, Forte K3)

Otherwise, the drive is quite fine, the passengers on the second and third row have no complains. In fact, the design makes it very easy for passengers to get on the car.

Thanks :)

Funny AD put the "RS" badge and somemore in red. I mean it's a small/mid size MPV, a people carrier. How "RS" can it get?

Just teasing, dun get so serious and flame me. Does it mean "Really Steady"? "Real Sporty-ish"? Or simply "Rear Seats"?

Hi. Seeing your post reminded me that I was supposed to comment here after run-in.

Mine just had 1st servicing late May.

After that, the FC had stabilised at ard 11.6 km/l. I'm quite heavy footed so that could explain the not so good FC. I did try for 1 tank to be more patient and achieved a 12.5km/l. The readings were based on the dashboard computer.

I will list the bad points first.

- sound proofing is bad or almost non-existence. I can hear outside traffic and outside can hear what songs I'm playing at volume 10. The road noise is present but I attribute that to the stock tyres. The CVT whine is very obvious which I hear quite often due to my heavy foot driving.

- the interior is quite spartan with some uneven gaps.

- the width of the car is too thin which makes the center seat of the 2nd row suitable for very small kids only. So I would call it a 6 seater rather than a full size 7 seater.

Now for the good points

- it is not as sluggish as I thought it would being a 1.5L. The pickup is decent for a car it's size, if you can ignore the CVT whine and just stepped hard.

- it has a firm suspension with quite well-controlled body roll. That is in comparison to Wish, Qashqai and Grand Scenic which I test drove. It is not harsh and is very pliant across bad roads or humps.

- it has the easiest entry to 3rd row seats in all the similar sized mpvs. It also has a slightly bigger boot than most of them too.

- it's 2nd row aircon is strong and can cool down /reach 3rd row easily.

- it is quite tall with a 183mm ground clearance which I could clear almost any ridiculous kerb. Despite this the body roll at cornering is not too bad.

- it has quite accurate steering probably due to the firmer suspension. There is no vagueness compared to super light steering like Qashqai or generally most korean cars.

Overall I have no regret getting it. It serves my primary purpose of ferrying my family of 6. Has a good firm suspension to balance the tall height. It is also not too bulky like a full sized MPV so parking is not an issue.

The bare interior with limited electronics for myself is a plus as I presume it will have less issues as it ages.

Hope you find this sharing useful.

Supersonic

Based on my obd for g3 jazz, when compared to my manual cal , manual cal consistently yields almost 7% less.

Neutral Newbie

I just booked my Mobilio last week and yesterday got my COE. My SE offered me an unresistable deal. Looking forward to get my car in the coming weeks.

Btw did anyone try to install roof mounted monitor in Mobilio? I am keen to do this for the kids but the rear aircon is in the way. Appreciate any advise.

Over past few days, seen about 4-5 oredi. A much better deal than Toyota avanza.

I find it hard to spot a Mobilio because it does not look like a MPV :-)

Mobilio looks like a souped up Jazz from the front. But the grille looks is subjective.

My car park got one.
