My last 6speed manual car, 1>3>5>6 if the road ahead is free from traffic.

What car u drove? [shocked] You must be revving a lot RPMs to reach the next higher gear shift. FD2R ?

Manual car drivers should practice advance driving technique such as Heel-and-toe shifting and flat shifting(Power shifting) to maximise the performance of the car. [drivingcar]

Erm if you're lazy to change gear that often, its quite common mah. I used to shift 1-3 quite a lot. You dont need a lot of rev to do that too... maybe 4000rpm? Redline for my old car was 8000 so its not really high mah. Launching at over 7000rpm then is high. Hahaha.

Then again, jumping gears will lack of the previous gear momentum.. also our driving school never teach us abt jumping gears. (Where i also think part of the members here are p platers or still in learning phases)

Don't need to rev too high. In my car also can skip from 1 to 3. Even if I rev till 2.5k rpm and change to 3rd, the rpm drop to 1.5k rpm but still can accelerate quite briskly.

more zen like.... :D Feel the clutch, the gear stick, the shift, imagine the disengaging and engaging of gears.... look at the scenery. No need to rush one.

rush rush rush... next traffic light is like 500m away also.

It's actually very enjoyable to drive within speed limits, and not above speed limits.

How much time can you save? Well, for longer journey maybe 10 mins faster, for shorter distance, maybe the one who drive slower (less rushed) arrives earlier.

If I wanna drive fast, I would have gotten an automatic already. But that sucks!!! Just tekan the throttle and brakes, with minimal control at your helm.

May I know why u do that [confused]

Bro, what makes u feel automatic (except dual-clutch gb) is faster?

I have seen so many kancheong spiders cut here cut there, in the end they arrive when I arrive. Sometimes, they get caught by traffic for being impatient. They could have been faster if they stick to the lane and follow the flow.

Automatic, yes even 4-speed AT by Toyota, gives tremendous acceleration feel when you work the throttle a bit harder than usual. In no time, you will exceed speed limits. For the average drivers, automatic is faster to drive.

Its normal. When I drive normally, I always meet the cars that were weaving in and out of traffic at the next traffic light anyway cuz sometimes they weave in and out and get stuck behind a slower car. Lol.
