Baseball83 Neutral Newbie March 4, 2019 Share March 4, 2019 Hi All, I’m new here. Been driving my KM - 2007 Stream for 2 year after renewed in 2017. Recently noticed that my temperature meter will go up and cross the halfmark when I’m stuck in jam usually when crossing to JB (15mins or sometime 30mins in move and stop motion). I would turn off my Aircon and the temp meter would drop back to normal, however when the jam is bad it would go up still. When driving in city or highway, everything was OK. Temp meter would be in normal gauge range (slightly below the halfmark). Hope to have advise from the bros here and would love to join in the DIYERS group for more info on improving and maintaining the ride. Thanks in advance.

Durian-seller Neutral Newbie March 5, 2019 Share March 5, 2019 (edited) One is the aircon fan, one is the radiator fan. From your description of symptoms, likely to be fan or radiator problems. If both fans working then Is your radiator leaking? I had these “overheat” issue before. Once it’s the fan, changed and Okie. Second time it’s the radiator leaks. Hope these helps Edited March 5, 2019 by Durian-seller

Ichibawa 5th Gear March 29, 2019 Share March 29, 2019 For 1.8L engine I believe its the same R18 as the Civic. Previously the lower tensioner bolt on my car failed. My mech said he had seen a few but not common occurrence in FDs. What happened to my car is the lower bolt become loose and the force from the tensioner damaged the screw thread and jammed the bolt. So now I have a loose tensioner that cannot be removed. To fix it, they need to dismount the engine cut and remove the bolt enlarge the and tapped a new screw thread and mount the tensioner back with a new bigger bolt. Would cost me close to 2K for it but I choose to scrap the car since its just 2 months more to go.
