if your is black seats than is easy. find at scrap yard for RSZ seats that comes with original arm rest.

 

 

but i just re wrap the seats . damn..

got this issue about air bag? hmm didnt know. you have the source of this recall for the airbag?

 

i am curious where you get the source to say that honda stream is affected by takata airbag issue?

KM did recall my stream for some quick fix.Did it during my normal servicing.

But I am not sure if it is the takata airbag issue.

My direct view is you are correct, not affected by recall.     My previous ride from PI was affected by the airbag recall, and I could see the original import party.

Yes, most likely.   

 

For my case, my preowned Stream is from KM, I could see the date rectified and I called KM to verify too (being the kiasi in me, lol), both side information tallied. 

KM did recall my stream for some quick fix.Did it during my normal servicing.

But I am not sure if it is the takata airbag issue.

Yes that's is mine case too. Km unit. Previous owner did the recall. Good to know.

well for the takata airbag issue, i dont think all the stream batches are affected. if the LTA website does not shows any records, this could mean our car batch are not affected. 

 

To think back, we buy used stream, things could be already rectified during the previous ownership, why i say this? do you think the previous owner doesnt have concern about this issue?  I am sure the previous owner also does concern about this and wants to have it rectify or clarified if the car is affected by this takata issue.

 

So just drive safe and enjoy.

Actually my PI is still around but my PI bought the car from another importer. So the responsibility of recall falls onto the importer acording to LTA who I talked to. However, the importer already closed shop so there is nothing that can be done. This leads me to suspect that this is how PI operate to escape responsibility for recalls. I nmay be wrong but this happen in my case. And don't borher to change it yourself at outside car workshop as there is worldwide shortage of airbag for replacement and outside car workshop may not have the parts and even they said they have, it may not be genuine rectified part but still the old unsafe part.

Not all will be rectified. An example is my case. For the final 1 plus year before my car is scrapped, I remind myself to drive very carefully to minimise changes of accident and air bag deployment. LTA already told me that there is nothing that can be done since the importer has closed shop. However, i did not check the recall link as LTA is the one who personally called me to inform of my recall situation.

If LTA have called each and every single owner and inform them about the recall. Than i think the issue should be rectified by now. 

 

Why wait until now we check record and found no details record?

 

Something is not right leh. LTA how come never inform me?

I am not sure why they called and inform me. I am surprised too. My guess is that they will call those that are unable to get the importer to rectify the issue due to importer closed down. After the call, I immediately called my PI and he act blur saying no recall for my car. I asked my Japanese friend to check the Honda Japanese website with my car chassis no. to confirm my car need to recall for the airbag issue as my car is JDM. Guess what I found? The website stated that my car has already been rectified for the airbag issue which obviously is fake.

huh? you mean the japanese website said your car already rectified? recently few of my frds and i wrote in to LTA. LTA say our car are affected by the recall. As our importer company has already closed down, LTA is not able to verify with the importer whether our car is rectified or not. Hence there is no record when we check on the LTA website.

 

That being said, LTA say we have to arrange for workshop to do LTA is not in a position to intervene on this issue on which importer is now responsible. So all costs have to be bear by the owner for rectifications.

i think only PI units have this issue. KM unit anytime can go back KM to rectify for free?

Yes. KM unit will be recalled. Only PI will have these problems. So no more PI for me unless it is a reputable PI and direct importer of the car.

New to the forum. Current ride 2008 Stream, renewed COE last year 2018 March.
