Why stretch to 15k ,Synthetic E.O is Not expensive ,Most get it change before 10k.

i Lesser than dat & dun Forget to change yr Coolant too,every year preferably .

Dun forget our Turbo charge engine needs the oil to cool & our Hydraulic tappets.

j can get to service my Merks for Less than 100Bucks but of course with the Lesser Brand Engine oil.
And Nvr never Buy E.O on-Line ,there’s so many Fake one out there ,I prefer to do it the wshop ,where I can pursue if anything goes wrong.

The 204 is a veri Good Mercs.

My CLK stopped on PIE in Less than yr Mileage .

Yup u guess it ,Fuel Filter .

200k can change Liao or Alternatively keep a Tow Truck number on Hand.

 Do remember Tow truck cannot Tow from Hiway ,gotta be EMAS.

Thanks for sharing. 15k is not stretch, it is a standard service schedule by merce. My car is serviced by chit soon, and i will always get them to do preventive check, no money will be saved trying to cut maintenance cost ..and my car being 14 years old, i dont have to top up  engine oil between the 15k interval.

u didn’t mention yr car model .

I trust u should be having the 9G Tronic & at 60k Its kind of Low to change ,there’s so many numbers flying around,Guess at 75k can change Liao.

The DCT ,double clutch ones will be shorter interval ,think around 60k .

Anwae all dis is not x’pensive if u do it at outside wshop .

U can change the serpentine belt too,Dun have to see mileage ,Juzz for a peace of mind.

While u are at it ,Ask the Mechanic to check  yr water pump ,see got Leakage or not ,many Late model Mercs have water pump issue,believe dey change it to the Electronic version which is worse ,heard got Recall!

It’s Chip Soon……….Quite a Reputable Mercs wshop in the East.

15k oil service is Bang on the Border Line.

why do u needs to Gamble & Engine oil is pretty Cheap,even the x’pensive one.

Being an old Engine with plenty of Soot & Full of carbon Deposit everywhere .

E.O Cools,Lubricates & finally Cleans the Engine .

Being Turbo charge ,am sure u noe it Lube & Cools the turbo as well,plus keeping the Hydraulic tappet in good Clearance.

Many are Doing at Below 10k .I would prefer inexpensive fresh Synthetic oil at say 7-9k ,Rather than a Hi end  E.O dat stretch to 15k.

Dun forget too ,the By product of combustion ,petrol /water will Contaminates yr oil. 
Mercedes Piston & Blocks are pretty Solid ,No need to top up E.O even for my previous 35 yrs old 8 valve engine.

In the morning ,Before u start,Take a peep at yr Coolant expansion tank & monitor the coolant level & at the same time when servicing ask yr Mechanic to Shine at the pump ,watch out for any Leak.

Last time I send my 212 7GTronics to Chip soon also ,Go see Daniel ,he’s the Better one.

Yes it is the cgi five speed model. Deal with Jason most of the time, will see who is daniel next time. 

Ignition switch replaced a coulple of years ago, cam gear and cam shaft adjuster replaced last year during the routine servicing. Front SAM kaput, sent it to sonic racing for replacment.

what is Front SAM ?

Guess u have Done what’s needs to be Done .

Another 10years ,No problem.

Am sure u done the Wear&Tear too.

Another thing to explore is finding a 2nd wshop,one wshop will Nvr be enuff.

sumtimes u need a 2nd opinion.

And some things Chip Soon wun do.

SAM is the ECU equivalent,  i suspect it was screwed by a mechanic before, code also got corrupted, Steven of sonic replaced  and reprogram it for me by copying from another cgi. But now he spends lots of time doing property development  in bkk near aiport area with his son, he spends very little time in sgp. 

I did buy parts from those few popular stockists in the past. At times i did replacement myself, like mirror micro motor, trunk rlease, handle but tose were on old211 and c180.

Yes chip soon does not allow own parts but that does not bother me unless i can find a equally reliable shop. They are not cheap but they know merce well. 

My coe car already so cheap as i renewed the coe myself, i wont stinge  on maintenance, i will do preventive repair instead. 

Do share if you have any good shops to recomend, please PM me. I will still stick to chip soon for now. In fact i do send back to cycle but i find it is a waste of money and time

Dear all, I'm abt to take the plunge on a 5YO E250 AVG W213. Test drive was decent (BMW stil drives better IMHO), but the MB interior is a stunner. Any common issues / advice for me when I take it to Workshop for a pre-purchase inspection? 

If you don't mind, any common failures or naggling issues that I should look out for?

Did yo take a plunge ? I think w 214 is coming in soon, they are clearing existing stock. If you have to change car at current coe price, then the 50k overtrade makes sense.

Bring it down to a Mercs Specialise wshop ,dey will able to Suss it out in a Heart Beat,Dun go STA/VICOM.

The usual wear/Tear are the Mount,shocks & the Arms.

Lately ,there are Coolant issues ,ask to make more attention to Coolant/Water pump & the Thermostat.

The Later model have Electronic Pump which have a Recall !

What the Hell.

Dun waste time on the 200 Go for the 250 ,it’s all make sense.

Yes Bimmers Drives better but if u go Continental ,there’s onli one Brand out there,if u dun wan naggling problem(s)

The Merk Design Language Realli  stands out.

The onli car out there ,dat makes u turn yr head & gives it a 2nd Glance is the Toyota & M.B
