Watwheels Supersonic February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 I believe we have enough resources to do something about this without taxing the working population too much. In a worst case scenario, I'm prepared to contribute part of it if we do not have sufficient resources. IMO, only fair that the older generation esp lower income ones be taken care of cos it's tough to work at an old age and worse still for "peanuts". We'll reach there as well and who knows, we may end up being the lower income older generation as well. IMO it's still best to plan for your own retirement. You cannot always depend on the welfare system to take care of us when we grow old. Who knows what will happen in the future? ↡ Advertisement

Spring Moderator February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 IMO it's still best to plan for your own retirement. You cannot always depend on the welfare system to take care of us when we grow old. Who knows what will happen in the future? Fully agreed and also I think we should not have the mentality of always having resources which may one day be insufficient. That said, I'm thinking more of the targeted segment of lower income older generation as per bro Toothiewabbit suggestion. This group I think can't plan or rather may not have the means to have enough for retirement so we can do something I feel.

Who knows what will happen in the future? cannot praise you again... but yes fully agree i said here b4, you are responsible for your own well being. Let nobody dictate that. Thae mans proper planning and forward looking to achieve your desirables many folks ting the gahmen will take care of you. fail! they do what is best for the larger population but beyond that, you are personally empowered to take care of yourself.

Who knows what will happen in the future? for those who are born post 65 can still plan for it (hence they have the cpf RA now), but for some pioneer gen may have to rely on the government for hand out. Anyway helps are always around, people around these old folks can step out to help or assist.
