Lately, Baltimore police issued warning that their officers are being threatened by "take out" order from gangs.

 

If this isn't a race-based civil war, than what is ?

 

PS: Oh, just realised Maryland Governor has declared a State of Emergency few hours ago.

This will allow him to activate US's National Guard.

Violence erupts in Baltimore over death of Freddie Gray

 

A state of emergency has been declared and the National Guard activated after the US city of Baltimore erupted in violence on Monday.

Hundreds of rioters looted shops and burned buildings following the funeral of a 25-year-old black man called Freddie Gray who died after he was injured in police custody.

 

At least 15 police officers were injured in direct confrontations with the gangs of youths.

 

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced the emergency measures including the imposition of a curfew beginning Tuesday night.

 

“I’ve not made this decision lightly. The National Guard represents a last resort in order to restore order. Look, people have the right to protest and express their frustration, but Baltimore city families deserve peace and safety in their communities.”

 

Gray’s death latest at the hands of police

 

Freddie Gray was arrested on April 12 when he fled from police in a high crime area. He was carrying a switchblade knife, and he was put inside a transport van to be taken to a police station.

 

At some point, Gray suffered a spinal injury that led to his death a week later. Two officers have been accused of failing to belt him into his seat securely and of not giving him timely medical attention.

 

Gray’s death has sparked days of street protests and raised tensions in Baltimore. His family however has condemned the violence.

 

The killing of several unarmed black men by white police officers in recent months and decisions by grand juries not to indict the officers have triggered large-scale protests across the United States.

Today, a police officer died from critical injuries he sustained from being shot in the head while sitting in his department issued vehicle last week. He had caused no harm to anyone, he had not even made contact with a single person. Yet, without provocation, he was executed.

 

Today, there will be no riots in the streets. There will be no mass of reprobates setting fire to their cities and screaming injustice. Today, a family cries for the loss of their kin. And whats so much more terrible about this savage murder; whats so horrifically unsettling about this abhorrent crime against humanity... Is that the world doesn't even know it happened. A police officer was murdered, and the majority of Americans could honestly care less. A man who devoted his life to the safety and protection of others, a man who had sworn to help the citizens of his state and made great personal sacrifices to assure the preservation of innocent life has been killed without reason and NO ONE EVEN GIVES A f**k.

 

The media has barely promoted the story or done anything to perpetuate the conservation of his memory. There have been no calls or demands for change to prevent a tragedy like this from recurring. THIS WORLD DISGUSTS ME. Every single time a criminal with a felony record the length of a football field dies as a result of their contact with police, a new movement is enacted by a fervent group of uneducated zealots. A new hashtag is christened. A bunch of mobs burn things and commit rampant burglary and arson. But a hero dies - a community protector is murdered in cold blood - and society barely bats an eye. And that society is a filthy, abominable, ignominious, worthless excuse for what humanity SHOULD be. The media and a substantive abundance of uneducated imbeciles in this country have made me ASHAMED to be human.

 

Rest In Peace Officer Brian Moore, EOW 05-04-15. Its quite obvious that the citizens of New York (and this country as a whole) were not deserving of your sacrifice, however, your service is immeasurably appreciated by those of us with integrity, morals, and an actual capacity for intelligence, and you will never be forgotten brother.

Nine bikers have been killed and 18 hospitalized in a shoot-out between rival gangs at a recruitment event in a suburban Texas restaurant.

What started as a physical fight in the bathroom spilled out into the bar and rapidly escalated to involve chains, clubs, knives and gunfire across Twin Peaks Bar and Grill in a quiet strip of Waco on Sunday afternoon.
Employees and diners, including young children, scrambled and many took shelter in the freezer as hundreds of gang members ran rampage around the booths, according to KXXV.

Racists or borned out by statistics?

 

well... stats wise... blacks make up about 13% of the US population but 31% of those killed by police were blacks. Demography plays a large part there I guess... economic background, education, location, etc.

 

But still... as we've seen with all these recent cases... and that last video showing how cops react to a black man vs white man carry a gun... you can't rule out racism. I suggested earlier in this thread that maybe the cops there are just trigger happy.... irrespective of black or white deaths... but I don't hold that view any longer.

So here's yet another case of white cop going gung-ho on unarmed black victims. The verdict is expected soon... this is an old case.

 

 

A judge said he reached a verdict in the bench trial of Officer Michael Brelo and will release it at 10 a.m. Brelo, 31, is charged in the November 2012 deaths of Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams after a high-speed car chase.

Brelo is white, the two motorists were black.
The chase began after Russell's beat-up Chevy Malibu backfired as it sped past police headquarters, which caused officers to think someone in the car had fired a gun. Thirteen officers fired at the pair's car after the chase, though only Brelo was charged criminally. Prosecutors said he waited until the car had stopped and the occupants were no longer a threat to fire 15 rounds down into the windshield while standing on its hood.

A total of 137 rounds were fired by those 13 cops. Both the victims were unarmed. Damn car backfired.
