price of freedom, i think the police was as frighten as anyone they face in the situation, too many uncertainties and anything can happen. either you panic or he panic, some one will get hurt.

Price of the right to bear arms... Police is also scared, either suspect die of police die...

Very strange... Why would the man reach for his pill bottle during a struggle with police in this case?

Why indeed. Unless it was to show the cop that it was only pills and no drugs as the cop had gone to investigate. And the paranoid cop decided he didn't want to play a game of "what have I got in my pocket"

When it rains... it pours... this video is an old case but still difficult to comprehend on the heavy handed police actions in the US.

Crazy to see how they tackle and hold the choke hold even after the big fella kept saying he couldn't breath.

And then today, another white cop shot a black man who was reaching for his pills. Crazy stuff.

While it is sad looking at the outcome, I don't think the police actions are heavy handed. Looking at the video, you can see how big size the black man is compared to the policemen. He was also very aggressive in his actions, gesturing violently. It is always easy to say after the event that the black guy is unarmed but what if he is hiding a pistol, or a knife? He only have himself to blame. Had he avoided arguing and just hands up, the outcome could have been different.

On hindsight, everything can be avoided.

In USA thanks to their right to bear arms, everyone including the police have become paranoid.

[crazy] tsk... lot of people think that being large and black is a reason to be discriminated against.

Police in Washington state shot a man to death who threw rocks at them, officials said on Wednesday, as a video published online appearing to show the incident drew criticism of the officers' actions.

The police shooting in Pasco, Washington comes amid heightened tension across the country in the wake of high-profile police killings of unarmed minorities, particularly in Ferguson, Missouri and New York City.
Officers Ryan Flanagan, Adam Wright, and Adrian Alaniz arrived at the parking lot of a Fiesta Foods grocery store around 5 p.m. local time on Tuesday, where suspect Antonio Zambrano-Montes threw rocks at them, Pasco Police Chief Bob Metzger said in a statement.
The officers attempted to use a stun gun to incapacitate Zambrano-Montes after he would not obey commands to surrender, before they opened fire and killed him, the statement said.
A video of the incident posted on YouTube and cited by local media showed the man running away from the three officers before he was killed.

Their police really trigger happy. ...

At that close range, they could've just shot the guy's legs. And maybe not have killed him.

But looks like they still shooting to kill at chest height.

This case has been boiling over for a couple of days now... but something seen often in the US. White cop shoots a fleeing black man in the back and claims he feared for his life. Only reason he got arrested was the compelling video from a bystander.

Actually... I don't even think its a racist thing anymore... I think its just trigger happy cops versus everyone.

Anyway, the unarmed victim died after being shot 8 times in the back. He was pulled over for a busted tail-light. Life sucks...

A South Carolina police officer was fired Wednesday after being charged with murder in connection to the video-taped shooting of a man fired upon eight times in the back as he fled.

Michael Slager, 33, was accused Tuesday of killing Walter Scott, 50, following a traffic stop for an allegedly broken taillight. Scott, who had a warrant out for his arrest, fled the Mercedes-Benz he was driving. He was chased into a field, and the officer said he fired his Taser after a brief struggle, police said.
“Shots fired and the subject is down. He took my Taser,” the officer reported on the police radio.
All the while, an unidentified onlooker secretly began filming the incident Saturday right as the struggle ends. The brief video shows the victim fleeing and the officer firing his weapon eight times. It was turned over to the authorities and has been uploaded to YouTube by multiple people.
"Where would we be without that video?'' said Justin Bamberg, a Scott family attorney.
