Tengnp 1st Gear April 25, 2016 Share April 25, 2016 As I mentioned in my earlier post, the consumption figures quoted by Regent Motors in their ads for the Focus is way off. After 7000 km of use since new, the ave consumption is 10.5L/100km. This is well off their claims. ↡ Advertisement

Arch1984 4th Gear April 25, 2016 Share April 25, 2016 Hmm dont think we will hear it as often as VW DSG in Singapore. Ford dont sell that many cars in SG and only Fiesta and Focus uses powershift. Plus SG only brings in the lower torque models into SG. The powershift gearbox should hold.

Eyke Supercharged May 2, 2016 Share May 2, 2016 the negligible diff between Cat A & B COE premiums makes their decision to bring in the puny 1.0T truly sad & misguided. even the uncle's-choice Corolla is ~1s faster from 0-100!

Tengnp 1st Gear May 3, 2016 Share May 3, 2016 I would'nt say its a "shitty" car. But if one were spending $100K for a car albeit even in Sg, it shd be "fit for purpose" as car reviewer friend remarked. If one can live with the "shitty""powershift" on a crowded up-ramp due to its erratic gear-hunting characteristic and the fc is a lie, then the lovely aestheic ( very personal), the good handling and firm but compliant suspension would just compensate for those flaws. For me its a "heart" rather than a "head" buy. My head would say Mazda 3. Regent's Motors adhesion to the spirit of its warranty can make or break the brands it is carrying. To me that is a deal breaker. Would I buy another car from Regent or Sime Darby stables of car brands? Right now. That answer is NO!!!

monsieurlee 2nd Gear May 5, 2016 Share May 5, 2016 Focus +149 Kerb, +325 GrossThat's a lot heavier. So the threshold for the 1.0 ecoboost is much lower then.

Warranty issue faced by me on my Focus: After 10 days and 498km from new, I noticed that the clipped-on left hand sideskirt had dropped off. It must have dropped off while on the move because I only discovered it was missing after I parked the car.Regent says I cant claim on warranty inless I can produce and return the dropped off skirt. Check your side skirts regularly guys. On the warranty issue if you dont service yr car with them, the service manual stated that it would void the warranty; although I wonder if its enforceable seeing that this condition was embedded in the manual which is NOT part of the sale and purchase agreement. But its prob the same for all car makes in Sg's since our CASE is relatively toothless in this regard ie anti-competitive and infair condition. Could you not raise this direct to ford Malaysia/Singapore? Regent is the distributor here. Otherwise you are protected by the lemon law.
