I think it's a bs story. How is the plane itself not affected?

 

US go and intrude Russia's territory waters still got the audacity to protest when their system got defeated. Buay paiseh meh? This kinda lose face news you think possible boh? It's an international humiliation for the U.S.

This reminds me of

 

David vs Goliath.

 

I always reckon that the way to win US is to disable their radar. GPS etc

 

Firepower and accuracy hard to win.

 

But attack their eletronic infrastructure and they will fall on their knees

Erm which military doesn't depend on it's electronics unless u are talking about jungle guerilla warfare or house to house street fighting.

Especially missiles. Most fighter aircraft are aerodynamically unstable if not for computer systems.

 

Nuclear EMP of course satki but everyone will have to go back to WW2 style of fighting...

For an aircraft to jam a ship's system, dont think is possible. For it to work, it must be near the ship to produce a electo-magnectic pulse. And the create such EM pulse, needs lots of energy too. For it to fly past 12 times and do it 12 times, the aircraft must be having unlimited fuel!!!

Yup.. conventional EMP jamming depends on the broadcast wattage (or power).. That's the reason for the big ass radar on top of the AWACS system. Both as early detection and electronic warfare platform.

 

Unless the Ruskies managed to miniaturise a nuke reactor to fit under a Su-24, it's highly unlikely for the plane to be able to buzz and jam the Aegis system 12 times.

 

A quick google on "Donald Cook DDG 75" turn up news on the buzzing, but only 5 websites (1 English, 2 Russians, 1 French and 1 Vietnamese) talks about the electronic jamming by the Su-24.

 

So in high likelihood, the flyby is real, but the jamming incident is false.

 

Anyway, Black Sea is bordered by Turkey to the south, Romania and Bulgaria to the west (In blue.. who are all NATO members)

Chances are high that the destroyer is in international waters, which anyone can be there.

 

Just like Russians sending their long range bombers to Gulf of Mexico and Pacific Ocean (off California). Uncle sam can make all the noise they want, but they can't do shit as long as the Russians stays in international airspace.

This story is very real, i saw one of the chinese military program discussing about this issue and said that the Russian cannot tahan the American anymore which keep on pressuring them militarily and economically and even sent the Aegis destroyer up their backyard, even goes to the extend of ignoring the black sea treaty signed between them.

 

The Russian got no choice but to show hand and disclose their electronic jamming capability, after this incident the American will have to reset all their military radar and communication frequency. The chinese expert was saying how mad and piss off the Russian must be to disclose their jamming secret, which no one would want to do at all unless in war time. Aggression to prevent aggression.

In another word... to bring down a modern fighter plane... just use EMP that is powerfully enough to shock their onboard computers and it will just fall off the sky by itself...
