Thats why i am a stong advocate of banning heavy veh on the road.

This is especially so for weekdays period. Suggest is to get them off the road from 7 -9am, 5-7pm.

When such vehicles are involved in accidents, lives, properties, and inconvienence are caused. If they langar a bike, lagi worse. human sandwhich and more blood spilled on the roads

Part of the Seletar Expressway (SLE), in the direction of the Central Expressway (CTE), has been closed since Sunday morning after an accident involving a private bus, trailer, diesel tanker and car.

As of 6pm, the affected stretch of the expressway was still closed. The LTA posted another tweet at 5.07pm saying that the closure will last for a "few more hours", and that "road works are being done to ensure safety for all motorists".

Dude. Liddat all the lorry uncles gt a hard time making $.

Think about the progress lost in terms of deliveries miss and also those people who depend on the heavy vehicle to deliver the goods so they can begin the next stage of work. 4 hours to you maybe nothing but think about the production lines and construction sites.

Those heavy vehicle people also pay their road taxes and COE. They also kenna tekan by people driving cars and motorbikes. Their lives also at risk what.

Every road user has a part to play. So think about the society as a whole.

So u saying ban the heavy vehicles from the timing u stated 7-9am, 5-7pm? Then the heavy vehicles that were supposed to move off between 7-9am will all cluster together with other heavy vehicles moving off after 9am isn't that worst? Or is this Because of ur selfish agenda that u use the road between this two periods?

Please spare a thought for the poor drivers making a living la... If this is a one off incident just let live, in fact most accidents that caused heavy jams that I have known of are caused by cars taxis bikes especially in lane 1. If u said u are a strong advocate so have u raise any awareness with the relevant departments on this particular issue? Or u juz did a random post here because words are cheap.

No offence feel free to correct me if I am wrong

Nobody want accident ...

Who want accident, put up hand....

Road is meant for all road users be it trucks, lorries, cars, motorcycles, etc etc ... We cannot ban or restrict any vehicle. Who say lorries and trucks drive recklessly? There are equal numbers of cars that drive the same way too...

Accidents happen due to misjudgment most of the times...

Since it happened, it will cause jams and jams.. Everybody will be affected..

So, pls drive safely :)

And hope all roads will be cleared by then :)

Diesel does not evaporates quickly, or we could had fires with accidents involving such spillage.

Relatively speaking it does. Sorry my bad, I didn't clarify that I was looking at it from a marine standpoint. Compared to the heavy fuels it's light enough that we look at petroleum/diesel spills as more of chemical spills than oil spills. They don't persist very long but the explosive limits and toxicity make it a nasty thing anyway.

Supercharged

Folks before they came up with expressway, there are roads linking to town area.

Short of moving to estates where it is linked to major roads or unless u stay in places where there's no 小路 to town area, u btr por pi such incident is once in 50wks.

Alternatively, go n familiarize urself w 小路. Don't be a 路痴.

I believe those are too busy counting profits to do so.

Mercy-mercy. I have no idea if you are among those inflation-loving scholars. Your comments can seriously make the inflation today to gets much worse. There are more time-sensitive deliveries than you can understand.

Diesel can affect the road material too.

So the long closure of SLE is due to diesel affecting the road surface?

Hope to read some explanation on this.

For the future, time for LTA to look into ways to restore one lane open by some means, within a shorter time.
