Jamesc Hypersonic November 7, 2014 Share November 7, 2014 Its that idiot Abbott. He should know that you cannot save money on security matters. Anyway he was born in London and anyone born in UK is entitled to a UK passport. I wonder if he has dual nationality and that would mean Australia is govern by UK again just like the good old days. Anyway I think the Queen is head of Australia so she must rule Australia too.

Opel17 6th Gear November 7, 2014 Share November 7, 2014 The report in the link mentioned that the recruits bought the gear from iSoldier shop, because they were not happy with the issued gears [used, worn-out, etc..]. Here in Singapore, I believe everyone have to use standard issued gears, and cannot use our own gears. However, I am out of SAF for a very long time. Any active servicemen can comment on this?
Stevle 5th Gear November 7, 2014 Share November 7, 2014 Its that idiot Abbott. sometimes it is not the PM but the others members of parliament/representatives that refuted the defense spending.... they probably thought they are too far away from the rest of the world with many sharks around them, hence are in safer heaven.... I have seen trainers wearing Magnum boots. Also, I have spoken to some laojiaos who have brought their own gears to training, especially overseas.

Jamesc Hypersonic November 7, 2014 Share November 7, 2014 Travel expenses: MP claims for a trip to Cairns – and buys property thereWA Liberal Don Randall and wife take ownership of investment property a week after $5,259 trip for 'electorate business' A Liberal MP and member of the parliamentary committee for MPs’ privileges and interests has billed taxpayers for a trip to Cairns and dozens of books, all not evidently related to his job as a parliamentarian. A reader tip-off to the Sydney Morning Herald has revealed that Don Randall, the West Australian member for Canning, made multiple dubious expense claims. In November 2012 Randall flew to Cairns with a family member, claiming $5,259 for “electorate business”. A week later an addition to his pecuniary interests ledger showed that Randall and his wife had taken ownership of a Cairns investment property. When questioned by Fairfax, and given a day to respond, the MP’s office declined to comment. On Wednesday afternoon Randall told Guardian Australia in a statement: “The claims relating to travel were appropriately acquitted with the Department of Finance.” Further expense claims include an October 2012 study tour to Sri Lanka for Randall and his wife, at a cost of $28,408 including a $2,135 phone bill, a trip to Melbourne and back to Perth, and thousands of dollars spent on books. The books, some of which were bought in multiple copies, included children’s cookbooks, travel books, the Guinness World Records, a guide to Broadway musicals and six copies of former prime minister John Howard’s Lazarus Rising. Its ok not to buy new equipment for Aussie soldiers as the money was used for more meaningful things like paying Aussie MP holidays.
