I3 not nice leh, sorry. Between i3 & toyota hybrid i would get toyota.

I guess we have a very long wait before they start mass production of a hybrid sports car that is within the budget of the average guy. Thats bad news fer me. My ride drinks like a slut....lol

BMW I3 is classify as 2.5L according to LTA.

For recharging, u suppose to do it at home. If u r not staying at landed, too bad lor.

Hi, Telsa is left hand drive. Even if we can ship it here i think there will be a ton of paperwork, import duties, taxes etc.

Then there is the question how to recharge the car and service it.

tesla got right hand drive if im not wrong coz my neighbour has one and seen him driving around...

charging points still in infant stage but i chanced upon some charging stations at orchard gateway carpark though..

There are also 2 charging points at TripleOne Somerset across the road.

For BMW i3, when I was at the BMW show and speaking to the lady who flew in from Germany for the show, she said that PML will have quick charging station for their customer if they needed a quick boost. Not ideal but if someone urgently needed a charge, that's where they can go.

I'm pretty sure tesla has got RHD, back when the dealer was still around, not sure if they still are, I saw a tesla with the test drive plate hung on ecp around mbs area, that was quite a few years back though.

That's Tesla Roadster which is made in UK. We are talking about Model S.

That's why i3 sold here is REX. Owner supposed to have their own charging point at home. Every nite, go home & charge.

Have seen the i8 during production at the BMW plant in Leipzig and seen them running on the streets in Munich.

Can't comment on the drive, haven't had the chance to try it but to be honest the outlook of the car is not so fantastic especially the paint. The shiny gloss makes it look downright cheap. The design language is decent but I had the chance to fool around the car a little and everything feels a little.... wobbly somehow... to me it doesn't feel solid. Of course, this was the first one that rolled of the production line and everything might have been fine tuned after that. The interior, however, is really unlike anything I've seen before. Fantastic.

Oh well. Not as if I could afford one but I wouldn't put my money down on an i8... For that kind of money, there are better options. Full electric, good try but not mature yet.

Most of the body is lighweight carbon fiber. But i saw on the net afew colour schemes. At least you saw one in real life.

Duno how long before it reaches a show room here.

Perhaps Tesla is a cheaper alternative but it is all electric n has limited range?

i8 is the most pocket friendly hybrid sports car around. Eur 100k vs Eur 800k (918 Spyder) vs Eur 1m (La Ferrari).

Mate, I think you're better off asking directly in the BMW forums, IMO this kinda car really need to meet the owners and talk direct though to get a better feel of its practicality.

For me, the 1st condition of getting i3 is own a landed property. Otherwise, no way gonna charge the battery except thru REX .
