And that's why it's relevant - a car that's being thrashed will have terrible economy, while a car that's being driven gently will do fine - and in a circumstance like this, one car was out of its element

They are trying to put across the message " it's how you drive the matters " given a fuel efficient car but drive very aggressive and fast may end up drink more fuel then m3.

Since when are topgear's (at least for the show) tests ever "fair"?

Also, for me, smaller doesn't always mean better - a relaxed engine is always better than one that being beaten to within an inch of its life...

 

Despite all the unfairness, it's still funny though...
