care to share which BnB model buy new and coe renewal have the same depreciation ?

Not same but close. A brand new impreza is about 9+k per year. You renew a 15 to 16 k car with PQP of say $65 k for 5 years end up per year depreciation is about $8 k. Haven't include repair wear & tear plus additional road tax. Difference about 1k+ per year. If so hard up over 1k per year, perhaps should reconsider driving.

Of course if you can cough up $65 k you probably won't consider renewing.

Can cough up 65k does not mean renewal is not feasible. At least you are loan free

From engine durability point of view , diesel is the best candidate , followed by NA , then supercharged / turbocharged.

Does that cover Turbo Diesels? Thanks.

Turbocharged

Does that cover Turbo Diesels? Thanks.

To be honest I am not very sure since turbodiesels are fairly recent. But taking cue from the Sonata cabs which are TD , and that they have easily clocked over 500k kms , should be a safe bet .

NA diesels confirm workhorse . [thumbsup]

No point renewing COE for B&B car - new not much diff from new if Coe is 60k+ n forgo parf + overhaul. New is equally dreadful to drive so might as well bypass the hassle.

But modern classics like evo, s2000, rx8, type r, mr-s.....fun cars that manufacturers don't produce anymore due to tighter emmission controls can consider.

Last year I hesitated for a long time should I export my well taken care of euro-r or renew it's coe since it only clocked 90k+ mileage

Not until I camped in sgcarmart for a good 8 mtns until I found a very well kept 6+ yr old ctr with mileage 40k+ only

Will regret if I traded it for a lemon, lucky for me, after 1 yr of ownership I still haven't spend a single cent for its wear and tear or repair. Only spend on engine oil and gearbox oil so far

Imo, performance car or sport saloon are only worth renew coe and hold its value if it's an almost stock car, no one want a frankenstein engine or gearbox

I also thinking of renewing my Lancer Ex 1.5 , I think is real a waste to scrap the car Since the car is still in good condition, Renewing may seem to be one of the option.
