Hybrid - Toyota prius

I drive a 6 yr old Gen 2 Prius. Even with an aging battery pack performance (charge depletes rather quickly in everyday traffic jam scenarios), I am still able to hit low 20 km/l for 80% small roads, and high 20 km/l for 80% expressway.

 

It is definitely a good contender if you clock high mileage (I calculated need to clock >30k km/year in order to make the petrol savings worthwhile given its higher initial cost). 

 

There's plenty of reading material out there on the web (priuschat, ecomodder, etc) that talks about the common problems, and tips and tricks of driving a Prius too.

i'm seeing less and less of them on our roads. Even taxis...
