SSS will incur 5k CEVS surcharge from July onwards. It is 187 CO2 g/km. Get $2500 more back when scrap the car, disregarding purchase price.

Hi Columbian, after owning the sss for awhile now, is there anything you dislike about it?

Considering its price being in the same range as other bigger CC cars, I guess that's why not many people wants to go for the sss. The teana is just $4k more I believe.

Only listing dislikes (off my head) on the car itself as per your request. I don't regret getting this car, yet. It still is the only car that ticks more boxes for me in local market. The listed price has come down more than the coe price.

- Ride is quite harsh generally on normal roads. (But cruising on highways is very smooth and quiet)

- Even though it is CVT, it is programmed as 6 speed, so it is not perfectly linear and smooth as a raw cvt. My personal opinion is that gear 1 takes too long to switch up sometimes. Moving off from 0, unless you drive like a granny, need to rev to 2k to move off decently. And 1st gear 2k rpm feels like you are revving hard. Beyond that is smooth. I do not use the manual gear lever.

- Stock wheel is 6.5 size. It is very narrow for a 17 inch wheel. This makes tyres choices limited. Default tyre is 205/50/17.

- Not sure if this is inherent problem or just my car but there are a few interior noises (rattling, creaks). I have narrowed down a few like passenger sun visor creaky. This car has excellent sound insulation from outside world and this really "amplifies" all the interior noises. Note that I am the type of person who is very sensitive to interior noises while driving.

- Arm rest too far back and low. If the driver seat is adjusted very high and foward, the arm rest could become "out of reach".

- The given HU unit is not so good. See the qashqai thread for more info.

- Can have more space around driver for placing stuffs

- Very rare variant, no one else to share direct experience with you. Seems like only SG has this.

Saw from LTA site there is a registration in October 2015. I wonder if it is someone bought this car or tan chong registering it themselves. Hello, 1.6t sylphy owner, are you in this forum?
