With zeally negotiation power, he should be looking in sgcarmart...which he mentioned he can nego down price in sgcarmart below the asking price here.

Zeally?....lol

Eh... my price I nego from sgcarmart... 10k depreciation to 6k

To be honest, the price people asking here is mostly ridiculous...

Both.

I only see comment side of the both though... lol

If you offer a good price it will be gone. Someone just sold his Camry with 6 months left in 3 hours.

A Camry got 'scared away'. You think a deal sealed here in less than 3 hours?

Pocy, maybe this is a good reference? I would think this price is very fair for 1.6 jap. I would assume it is auto too.

Concurred it's is a fair price.

So zeally you looking for car or only commenting?

No buy can also comment, but be fair. Any unkind comments may be conflicting interest dealer in disguise.

Concurred. I too noticed ridiculous offers by sellers and buyers. Maybe some guidelines like dep between $300 to $800 per month depending on make, condition, years, etc. Sellers think theirs better than that maybe this is not the right platform for their cars.

Prices here are still lower than what are posted in sgcarmart. Does the seller profit from the sale or not, only he knows. Assuming u r the seller's fren, he sells u the car at frenship price of outstanding bank loan + scrap parf amount + 0 profit.

Question is he bought high, outstanding bank loan would be high. The real question is seller here is a stranger to you and why should he sell you at frenship price? All will like to sell at a profit, be it private seller or dealer, at how much profit?

The day lta decides to take action on uber driver,

is the day where we see much cheaper car with less than a year to drive.

Turbocharged

55% of 12237 is 6730

$12000 - 6730 = 5270

$5270 / 8 months = $658.75 per month

$658.75 x 12 = $7905 before body.

So at 12k, price is alright/fair.

That's the point everyone was driving at.....

Paisei lor...i was lazy in my rounding n counting

Concurred, friendship price is unrealistic thought. Every buyer/seller here is just hoping to have a better deal compared to dealers. If ridiculous offers, forget about making deal in this forum,

To add on, if buyers think $300 dep per month high, better wait outside a scrap yard for offer.

Depends, $300 a month for a car left less than 1 month may not be attractive assuming the body is 0 value

Lol. And that guy doesn't believe that this is possible. Tbh, i bought from direct owner for the first time at 2013 when coe was peaking at a price of 4.3k dep. When it was scrapped last year i bought a 2.0l korean car, upgraded from my previous ride at 4.5k dep. It should last me till a much lower coe price and i am even considering to renew it when time comes (or buy new since it will be cheap). It is always willing buyer willing seller. I do not mind getting more cars even though i do not have a direct need. There are ppl around me who needs a car and i can always buy for them. Provided it is cheap.

Anyway, right now this thread has more sellers than buyers. When new car sales are moving, old cars must change hands. It is not hard to seal a good deal now. Those that are looking for win win, they will get it. Those who really want to sell because new car coming will be able to sell... (just go for the highest offer which may not be your asking price) those that want to buy because car has been scrapped will be able to buy (but may not be your dream price). Meet somewhere in the middle u get win win. For those who just wants to sell the car now to profit. Can also.. wait for the target lo... but it could be long wait...

This one i agree. For anything more than 3 month, 300 dep is definitely reasonable. Anyone who low ball beloe 300 confirm dealer in disguise. But if say left 1 month of like 6 weeks? Then I do not know. If i am seller, as long as 100-200 above paper i also sell. Unless got family or friend need to drive, then just give them drive a while for free. Otherwise, why waste $$ of parking? Try a few days cannot sell, then I will scrap early lo.

Buyers and sellers have to be realistic on prices. If sellers hope to catch ah gong or buyers want to squeeze till bone, forget about it don't waste time.

This is the right sprit.

I think I would do similar.

Congrats

I don't think zero value for body, unless more than 10 years and bad condition. Left one month better scrap or let family members drive.

Asking price lowered to $16k!!! Spend only $5k to drive a 2 litre coupe for 8 months. Annual depreciation of just $7.5k! Engine works perfectly fine, no repairs needed! Car has been fully paid up for.

Tuscani sold! Thank you all for your interest.

Neutral Newbie

My car is expiring next week. I'm looking for a replacement, to drive for short term. Looking for mainly "conti" cars, with high omv, high road tax, but very low scrap/ export value.

eg. BMW 523i, BMW 730li, Audi A6, Volvo S80 etc.

I noticed dealers do not want these cars.

Please contact me if you are selling your car. Send me a message at http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?app=members&module=messaging&section=send&do=form&fromMemberID=170914

or sms 9 seven 1 three 7 eight 3 nine.

Please let me know the following,

1. car brand/ model

2. asking price

3. COE expiry date

4. OMV

5. defects to take note of
