Price is negotiable and my parf rebate at end of coe.

I don't know to believe the bro who used omv 12k divide by half or the amount i checked on lta website for the parf value...lol

Based on my memory, 2008 car parf rebate shld be 55% of omv and it doesnt differ and looks closer to 6.5k scrap on last day of the car. However since you claimed tou use the lta calculator, the value at scrapping date (may be earlier than the last day of the car) would be accurate as well. I suspect the difference is due to the coe rebate for the remaining months left for the car's life. Technically speaking the correct way to calculate depn is purchase price less scrap value on last day of car divided by remaining life of car.

i feel some buyers are scaring away sincere direct sellers by offering too low.. yet blame dealers taking away deals. be considerate when u offer. imagine if u r selling how low u will go.

Agreed! Up 5 for you.

But it goes both ways la. The so call direct sellers here post dealer prices. So bo choice but to bring them reality. In fact, most of the prices in sgcarmart can be negotiated to lower than the figures there.

I would say willing buyer willing seller. Low baller in one's eye may end up offering the highest. No harm parking a price. If dun like dun sell lo. Willing buyer willing seller. If direct seller can sell here, then can always go to dealer where they are really low balling pple.

Yup that's correct. Left 1 variable which can affect the dep is my price is negotiable. My COE value is S$0 at end of COE. Parf at end of COE is S$7091. Thank you for your informative response.

Yet many here start to throw tantrum about my high price using their own "reasonable and righteous" standard. The LOL thing is they have no intention to buy yet make the most noise like suan lah, still dare to post here lah, etc.

Please fill in this proverb if you are one of the "reasonable and righteous" - Empty vessels make the most _ _ _ _ _!

Do you want to share the price that dealers have offered you?

If you do that, at least you can filter out all the low ballers who offer lower than dealers. Saves u some frustration.

Quoting your above sentence "But it goes both ways la. The so call direct sellers here post dealer prices. So bo choice but to bring them reality. In fact, most of the prices in sgcarmart can be negotiated to lower than the figures there."

I may need your help when I buy from sgcarmart. commission you will get is how much you can negotiable down from the dealer.

I thought depreciation calculation is quite a straightforward calculation,

I get 12k on calculation. Can you show us how you get 9k pls?

Since he said that he worked out for me how to get depreciation of $9k/year, I feel obliged to share that I'm the one who PMed him. Indeed, we are all correct that the depreciation is $12k/yr at his asking price of $30k.  He has said in his later post that the min PARF is $7,091. So depreciation of $9k/yr is really only when the deal price is WAY below $30k.

Personally, I feel that it will be a HUGE challenge for him to sell here with so many knowledgeable bros here. He will have better luck elsewhere instead of wasting his time here.

What did the free valuation on Quotz give you??

And why don't you give the mileage because isn't that the most important factor???

thank you for your advice bro, at the same time, highlighting my parf is indeed higher than the so-call 6.6k and my price is negotiable below 30k.

I haven't been to any 2nd hand car dealers yet but most of the ADs at showrooms are quoting me only the paper value which is around $12k. If I were to trade in my car to AD at that price, I might as well keep it and scrap it when the COE expires in Nov this year.

Hmm, so u haven't gotten new car? If so, then how about just wait till nov when car about the expire then buy new car since its scrap value anyway? More economical and saves $$ too.

It only make sense to sell now if u got new car coming... unless u wanna stop driving temporarily, but honestly such cars are harder to sell as compared to B&B cars. You should drive till last day.
