Of course he do wrong -

But his wrong was not illegal

So .... for example, your company can say...

Must provide MC when take sick day - you take sick day but no MC,

So they fire you, as you did wrong,

But still not illegal

I don't see any numbers there? (of size of GRC?)

Anybody good enough to compare that to current to see if any new wards?

if the man on the street can decipher what was published

then the scholars should be prepared to get fired

(edited)

Let us just formally coin the term "Harikiri" for cockups, then we can keep better track of the contestants.

- Winner for most Harikiris in AGO's annual report.

- Between Khaw, Vivian and Lui, who has scored the most Harikiris this year?

We can have monthly or annual Harikiri awards. With the elections coming, confirm people are going to be saying stupiak things so let's have an Election 2015/2016 Harikiri Contest. Not just limited to the incumbent party, we can rope in the opposition parties as well.

Don't forget HARIKIRI OF THE YEAR for the biggest cockup.

I wonder why so many sub districts in each constituency. ( refer to the gazzettes from election dept)

Perhaps from here, the who-ever can study the voting patterns. Hmmm, my evil brain at work.

Interesting "Mahjong" game:

Once upon a time, the king of Heartlessland announced a mahjong competition to be held shortly. He had been keeping quiet about the venue and time of the game, until one day, when asked by some interested parties, he advised that a group of civil servants working under him had been doing the needful for 2 months already, the venue and date of the event would be announced when he deemed fit.

He further advised that on the day of the competition, all those who had enrolled for the event just needed to choose a table and sit down, and they could start the game by drawing and discarding the mahjong tiles. There is no need to reshuffle the tiles and setup the 4 walls by the players at the beginning of the game because his group of civil servants have already done the reshuffling of the mahjong tiles and have also set up the 4 walls on the table. When those participants told the king that it would only be fair that all the 4 players at the same table reshuffled the tiles together, he replied that his group of civil servants were professional mahjong experts, they were extremely reliable and they know which tile should be placed at which position. He insisted that his civil servants were in much better positions to do the reshuffling and setup the 4 walls of mahjong tiles, he further claimed that the professional work of his civil servants would give rise to an absolutely fair game.

So all the participants had no choice but to play the game as per the kings system. As expected, at the end of the competition, the king and his men won at almost every table

The aforesaid mahjong competition happened about 10,000 years ago during the barbarian era. Here in Singapore today, we believe that most mahjong players reshuffle the mahjong tiles and setup the 4 walls together to ensure that the games are fair. However, we never know, some of the descendants of those barbarians may still practice the games of their forefathers. What do you think?

Do you allow such practice to prevail if it really survives?

Nice analogy.

But do bear in mind the complexities of the problems that we "expect" the leaders to handle, ranging from defence to education to housing to transport to social welfare etc. It's like expecting every hand of mahjong to show 清一色,大四喜,大三元. 平湖ok but not lower.

With such expectations, I am not sure if we want to randomly reshuffle and leave everything to chance.

But agree that we need opposition players. If not the incumbent could just pick tiles and present whatever they want to present. At least give them a run for their money.
