Next year will be payback time.... Agreed ... With so much goodies coming out, it is likely a feel-good year for ruling party to strike a lightning fast and furious And then they will take back ALL next year ... hahahaha I better go get some tools, like hammer, to make sure my house is in order to prevent rain and lightning

Jayy25 6th Gear February 26, 2015 Share February 26, 2015 (edited) looking at things with ah gong now.... i would expect election to be next year (may-june period).... without the man behind the screen, alot of lost of confidence among voters.... and P@P will probably will not want to risk it this year. let things and emotions settle down first then use the first yr anniversary to jolt up good emotions to help their election cause. Jman888 Moderator March 2, 2015 Share March 2, 2015 Former NSP secretary-general Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss applies to join Chiam See Tong's SPP By Yahoo! Singapore | Yahoo Newsroom – 28 minutes ago Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss joined the National Solidarity Party of Singapore in March 2011. (Yahoo photo) Former National Solidarity Party secretary-general Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss has applied to join the Singapore People's Party, which is led by veteran politician Chiam See Tong, according to media reports. She, together with Ravi Philemon, Bryan Long, and Osman Sulaiman, resigned from NSP last week after they lost their council positions at NSP's central executive committee election last month. According to The Straits Times, all but Osman have submitted applications to join SPP, although Today said all four have applied. Chong-Aruldoss reportedly vied against long-time party member Sebastian Teo for the party's presidency, while Philemon competed against Tan Lam Sion for the secretary-general post, but both lost to Teo and Tan in a landslide. On why she decided to join SPP, Today quoted her as saying, "The opposition parties are all closely connected, and it is easy to talk to one another. There are no major ideological differences among the various parties... but Mrs Chiam is someone I respect a lot, and I would like to help her in whatever areas she needs help with." Chiam See Tong's wife, Lina Chiam, is currently a Non-Constituency Member of Parliament, after losing the Potong Pasir single member constituency by a very slim margin in 2011. According to ST, during a walkabout at Bishan street where she was joined by her husband and Chong-Aruldoss, Mrs Chiam said SPP will field a "very strong team" to contest the Bishan-Toa Payoh group representation constituency.
Spring Moderator March 2, 2015 Share March 2, 2015 In my opinion, that's the trouble with the opposition In Singapore. Musical chairs movement till don't know who is where and worse still, the voters don't get to identify the opposition ideologies, policies etc cos different parties will have different agenda. Wonder if it's cos of ego that they like to move around? Whilst voters should vote for parties, the individuals representing them play a big part and it doesn't help that one min you're with NSP and next min you with SPP etc. No chance to work the ground which is already so tough for the Opposition. Ideally, they should consolidate to at most 2 opposition parties, resolve any differences and work the ground perhaps one party East(WP?), another West. This way it doesn't really matter how the boundaries are re-drawn. My 2 cents and admittedly easier said than done!!

Even WP has huge TC problems. Imagine if one of these small opp party manages to win a SMC how ?? With zero experience + no software, sure die big time. That's why MND/HDB/whoever should step in and bring the politics out of estate management !! SDP is quietly and slowly improving, CSJ is less brash now. They have a decent team also. PAP better work their own ground instead of keep trying to fix the opp. Edited March 2, 2015 by Othello ↡ Advertisement
