BBKs. For endurance and feel, not stopping distance?

It wasn't too long ago (up till early 2000s) that most of the cars sold here couldn't even hit 200kph if given a 10 mile straight.

 

Vaguely:

 

Early 1980s : Wah this one got Fuel Injection! 100 hp is respectable.

 

Late 1980s : Wah got DOHC 16valves! 150 hp is respectable

 

Early 1990s: Wah got variable valve timing and electronic lift control! Need about 200 hp.

 

Now no direct injection no turbo no talk.
