I like K3, i find Elan's curves a tad too deliberate. Likewise for K5 & i45, so on so forth.

Agree regarding the excessive curves. I prefer less curves.

Tested Drive n it value for $ in its class.. feel that the cabin comfort n sound insulation is rather good.

I agree. The underfloor insulation is thicker than expected. i am beginning to enjoy car audio again.

Quite impress with the pricing when it just started.. but now is like increasing.... it would be perfect with a turbo charged 1.4 engine.. & a better suspension..

That would have been a European engine.

I think the Koup will suit you better. 2 door, 1.6 turbo

Many who bought Altis perceive Jap cars as having higher reliability. Without over-generalisation, there is this big group of mid-income earners who are just looking for a reliable family car for running family errands and design and other frills are never top on their list. I also notice many Altis on the roads come in boring colours, like grey or champagne.

I personally had driven both jap and kimchi cars, and I can say, reliability-wise, the koreans are on par with the japs. My previous forte had never given me any major problems over its 4 years. I am currently driving a K3 and I must say, it is the most fully-featured 1.6l car at that price-point and also provide a very refined ride (of course comparing at the same price-point). Driving my K3 is no longer just about getting from point A to B but it becomes an experience in itself to be enjoyed, something which I can only feel when driving bigger and more expensive continental cars.

There are many reasons when it comes to buying a car. Reliability is one. The Altis is one good example of a good and reliable car. No question about it.

I am driving a K3 after 4+ years with a Forte Koup which gave me no problems at all. I also agree that Kia and possibly Hyundai (bigger brother to Kia) quality are up there with the Japanese.

I went for K3 because it had better value and was cheaper than my other choice, the Altis, which was then about $10k more. if the price gap is on par, i would still go for the K3 because of the features.

I believe Jap Tier 1 cars will have better resale value. K cars are not far behind as I found out when I sold my Koup some time back.

I believe the current new cars will gradually appear in used car section after they reach 5 yrs old and loan is over. Sell it off, using the balance of paper value as the down payment for next new car.

There is already more K3 on the road now...

To its own lar.... Some like kimchi, some like sushi, some like sausage and those loaded one likes all...

No complaints from me except that the tyres seem to be getting noisier though

Change the tyres after 2+ years... Should be fine

I hope 5 years later K3 will be even better... Although now is very excellent
