The traffic light was in your favour, so I don't think you were wrong. In case the cab driver tried to spin a different story, I can pass the video to you. Jwee85 5th Gear October 11, 2014 Share October 11, 2014 1) Make sure its not the wrong party that get the video, so that he can 'tune' his statement to make the accident in his favour. 2) Sometimes the perpetrator(wrong party) may read such forums to see got anyone filmed the accident. The mention of a video(even if there were none) will spook the guilty party to not fraudulently report the accident. So with this theory in mind, it might be a strategy for (touch wood) anyone who kena accident, it may be a 'naughty' idea to post "got video recording and want to contact the accident victim" to spook the other party(wrong party) into making a honest accident report. You are just providing your assistance and evidence to help Traffic Police to investigate the accident case as a accident scene eye witness, Traffic Police might ask you if necessary, are you prepare to attend court to testify your reported true statements. Not necessary to be within the 24 hour mandatory time frame to report, your helpful reporting as soonest will expedite Traffic Police in their investigation and bring relief to the party who is not at fault in the collision. It will also prevent the party in major fault to defence with his untrue accident reporting false statements, this would help much for the Toyota Vios driver to proceed with his or her car insurance claiming easily and smoothly.
