Icebrush79 4th Gear December 9, 2014 Author Share December 9, 2014 It depends on what schools you're going to. I've tried the 100-200 dollar 2-2.5hrs playgroup before for my girl. Frankly it was rubbish. Terrible staff to child ratio. Not saying there is no places that are cheap and good, just that not easy to find. Especially when convenience will be a big issue for the parents. Full day nursery + childcare is from 800 to 1800? Depending on what schools u think suit you. Don't make the mistake thinking that 2.5 hr to 3 hr nurseries are cheaper. They are usually only slightly cheaper. Letting my girl start at 2 yr + at a better school from Jan onwards. Hopefully she will like it there. I think it's more to learn from other children and the teacher while playing. We live in small families now, and parents and grandparents really don't have the imagination or time to keep thinking of new things to engage the kids with. I really those parents that can keep thinking of new places/activities to bring their young kids to learn or have fun. Thanks for your input bro. So am I right to assume 1) 0-18mths - cost roughly $800* - daily necessaries EXCLUDES any form of infantcare/childcare 2) 18 mths - 24mths (or pre-school going age onwards) - $500 daily necessaries + approx $1500 childcare so roughly $2K Correct ?? thanks man !!! ↡ Advertisement
Mrmilktooth Supercharged December 9, 2014 Share December 9, 2014 its a little $$ but total can add up to a good sum... mine 4mths go infant care.. after subsidy 577 per month.. think next year increase by 50 -100$ infant care till 1.5 y/o = round to 600 x 14m = $8400 eating semi -solid from 5.5m onwards.. wife cook everyday for her 2 meals to substitute formula milk.. $100 per month on fish alone!.. threadfin, salmon, occasional beef, alot of veg like brocolli, spinach, potato, carrot, formula milk on dumex.. (p.s i dint know it was 1 of the more ex ones.. lol.. ) stage1 = 90 per can stage2 = 79 per can stage3 = 71 per can all 1.7kg... diapers just buy the cheapest ones.. around $30 for 80x2 pcs... around 20+c per pc. price goes up from S-- M-- L ... not include $$ for her clothes.. which luckily got alot hand me downs from my wife's boss... and toys as well.. Icebrush79 4th Gear December 9, 2014 Author Share December 9, 2014 Thanks for all the inputs so far guys....Anyway, would need advise again as I'm totally clueless on baby seats. Naturally being a participant of this car forum, brands like Sparco and Recaro came to my mind when it comes to baby seats. But surely, there must be other brands worth considering?Like Maxi Cosi or Peg Perego or something ?What are some of the brands that you guys are using and found good? Also,What type of seats should I get for the longest lasting ROI (eg some are from 0-3 or 4 years, some can last longer? ) - I just don't want the hassle of having to buy and change seats, best is one seat to last the lifespan of statutory requirements.Any to recommend? Icebrush79 4th Gear December 9, 2014 Author Share December 9, 2014 Your car has what additional tether system other than 3 point seat belt. Isofix? Just the 3 point seat belt I would reckon. Current ride is FN2R, I don't think it has Isofix. Should I be looking out for a new car with Isofix? Intend to change in 1-2 years time after monitoring the 2015-2016 myth that COE might go down considerably. thanks !!
Mrmilktooth Supercharged December 9, 2014 Share December 9, 2014 Iirc, he driving a fn2r... Don't think most Jap car got isofix. Unless suv.. Maxi cosi quite versatile. Can attach n detach to base of bumblebee stroller. Use around 7mths+ until baby can sit up n neck is strong enough. Before getting those baby car seat which can carry 8kg to 25 kg now.. Depend on ur budget..
Lala81 Hypersonic December 9, 2014 Share December 9, 2014 Many conti cars would come with Isofix hard points. Latch is the American system. Maxi cosi and britax are Isofix. Very few latch systems in sg. But for example the Honda accord here has. So I bought a latch system seat from USA for this. Latch can be used on Isofix points as well. But Isofix is supposedly superior. But all better than just 3 point seat belt. Many child seats should incorporate the 3 point seat belt as a base. There is a thread on this issue somewhere in the forum. Can search Just the 3 point seat belt I would reckon. Current ride is FN2R, I don't think it has Isofix. Any to recommend? I bought Cybex Pallas (9mths - 8yrs) from Baby Hyperstore @ Shun Li. But agent for Cybex seems to have stopped bringing in. Can take a look at Aprica: http://www.aprisin.com.sg/p-677-apricaairgroovestarsv.html http://www.aprisin.com.sg/p-590-apricaeurojuniorimpactred.html I prefer those that is suitable from 1yr old to 8yr old type. Icebrush79 4th Gear December 23, 2014 Author Share December 23, 2014 Hey folks,Any of your wives had experience of placenta praevia (low lying placenta) ? Gynea told my wife that she has a low lying placenta during the last visit (21 weeks).Today at 25 weeks, the placenta have not moved a single bit. What are the chances of the placenta moving up? Anyone shared the same experience? My wife would very much like a natural delivery compared to C-sect. However, if indeed placenta praevia is prevalent, we would have to opt for C-sect.thanks guys !!cheers

Lala81 Hypersonic December 24, 2014 Share December 24, 2014 There are different grades of previa. The milder grades can reverse as the uterus stretches. The higher grades will not reverse.
