Kangadrool Supersonic October 11, 2014 Share October 11, 2014 (edited) they check meters on alternate month only. So, this month is based on estimate. Then, they adjust following month. However, once you're back (presumably from holidays), you'll have lotsa of laundries. So, usage may spike. So, sometimes is LPPL. That's what I notice when my whole family is away for 2 weeks. Once back, OC re-washed all clothing. Once my place is at 50% usage for more than a month as most of us are not at home. But the bill remains the same.Called them, they said the meter readings are correct.I doubt these are ever accurate. xherion 2nd Gear October 11, 2014 Share October 11, 2014 (edited) Mine is 3br condo with 3 adults and 2 kids. 2 aircons on for 8-10 hrs a day Wash clothes once a day Cook every single day TV on maybe 3-4 hrs a day Bill is around $230-250 monthly. I always have things on standby but my sis nag me to switch off at power point. I couldn't stand the nag nag nag so one day I reach behind the tv cabinet and bend down to switch off the wall plug. Before I could reach it I heard a crack and it was my back. I had to go to the doctor and had a jab for pain killer that cost me $80. I calculated that the TV on standby cos something like 30 cents a year. So $80 into 30 cents is more than 266 years. Rather than every day having to bend down to switch on and bend down to switch off and risk an $80 medical bill just to save 30 cents a year? I just leave the TV on standby now. Lol....maybe you can use those switch that can be remotely controlled, bought mine for 10 bucks for 3 units or so. Alpha78 6th Gear October 11, 2014 Share October 11, 2014 This is very clever ... Is it easy to DIY or must get electrician ... I got a few tanks at home ... So a few switches ... Is it expensive? I managed to DIY. There is a circuit diagram attached to each device. Only issue is if you connect the live wire to the wrong side the blue light will be on all the time. Camrysfa Turbocharged October 11, 2014 Share October 11, 2014 wonder what's the logic of putting the power points so low? Not safe for babies too! Can only think it's due to cosmetic reason only. I like those old flats with power points at eye level. haha, not sure how HDB positions it's power points now. it used to at eye level. During renovation, owners will ask the reno contractor to shift it down.

That's what I can see from all the posts here... even between HDB and EC I see its higher. Sucks to be me...

Happily1986 5th Gear October 13, 2014 Share October 13, 2014 How old are the aircon units? how many ticks? got inverter? What is your servicing intervals? a dirty cooling coil can make the aircon compressor work harder.

Jamesc Hypersonic October 13, 2014 Share October 13, 2014 there is a free service known as children Haha you mean ask the kids to turn off at the mains? They are the one that use the most electricity. Always watching tv, always opening the frige to see whats inside always playing computer, handphone, ipad etc. I would rather not have the kids and spend the money on standy, the tv on standby is way cheaper than kids.
