go to Megatex?

Starts from 11am to 10pm.

Date: 19th December 2014 to 24th December 2014

Venue: Singapore Expo, Hall 6A, 1 Expo Drive, Singapore 486150

Megatex is not bad, organized by Courts. Usually there will be some credit card promotions (usually Maybank), either free instalments, free vouchers, etc.

Just the overall vibes. And read some horror stories also, so personally avoid them.

There's another electronics store which have more horror stories, but still I recently bought a small TV from their Expo Sale. Courts is generally considered very good, maybe except for price.

Yea I know about the other one too lol.

Anyway, I prefer to buy from the smaller shops. Nothing to dislike about paying less for the same thing :D

well guys, my guess the tv is something like this @ $1400...

LG 60" LED LCD TV

Pix from HN Ads.

Don't really like LG. Had one but it broke down twice in 2 years. The customer service is good though as there was 3 year warranty. The technician came and change some circuit board.

I recommend Sharp as I'm also using the 60". So far so good after 1.5 years.

For bigger tv like 60", I think most are still made in Japan. If not, then look for models made in Japan. I'm a great fan of Japan made electronics because they really do last longer

LG I think all models with 3D are using passive glasses, probably the only brand using passive glasses. Advantage is no need to charge batteries.

This is correct.

We have an LG 60" and it's very good, imo.

But we seldom watch any 3D.

In fact we only have one 3D DVD, but it good to watch and the passive glasses are much better than the active.

Also got LG 46" and Sony 40".

The operation of the LG Smart TV controls is much better on the LG than on the Sony..

3D is good to have but not within my budget. Hopefully will source one with good value.
