yeah.

that's true.

unless it's to ivy league or the top 10 uk schools. the ROI is simply not there.

most people rightly view an overseas education as local uni rejects.

esp those aussie uni. the name damm smelly. particularly those with distance learning program in sg. like curtin etc.

Yeah. Now those that go those Curtin or UOL or any of the other distance learning programs all can't really get higher pay than those that go local uni. Many of my friends who grad from those "overseas" Uni end up getting about the same pay or just abit higher only.

Some distance learning degree courses offered by good university eg. UOL, UCL, etc. are mainly to make money for the uni. Most of those attending the uni there probably wouldn't have heard of such courses there.

Those who taking up distance learning should really do their research well. To make sure the course they are enrolling are of good quality. Cannot assume just cos the university is known to be good means all degrees offered are equally good. Few universities are good in all subjects.

Based on small sample size only la. My friends and I all just graduated. Some from SMU, NTU, NUS, RMIT, UOL and University of South Wales. None of us getting below $3000. The guy from RMIT got highest pay though. $4000. Other than that the rest all around the same.

Nowadays the employers seem to focus more on the interview. Those not from local uni seemed to have harder interviews involving more presentations and more rounds of interviews.

I drove my aunt & Uncle to the freshmen day (or something) of Birmingham University for my Cousin when I was stationed in U.K.

Some mistaken me for freshmen & ask me to join this club or that club. I was like, damn, why wasn't I send overseas to UK to study....haha & it has absolutely nothing to do with Quality of education. [:p]

Those considering saving up to send their kids to overseas Uni......please factor in the type of course you are sending them to. Example, US24k for a course in Aus, probably in mediocre Uni or a useless course, just for the sake of obtaining a degree.......isn't gonna help them in looking for a well paying job or maintaining their self esteem subsequently.
