okay if you decide to stop discussion, please lock the thread instead of deleting it. There are some useful posts people can reference to in the future.

I don't think the mod should lock or delete this thread. If people feel they are being trolled, they are free not to read or respond.

reading the posts from TS, why do I feel like he's a troll magnet?

prata flip every where like trying to encourage people to come up and tell him don't buy..

Like the mod said. Today is the first day of school holidays.

valid point dude! LEt it flow. ADvice from the MCFers are sound and serve as a good reference for future potential purchasers.

Unless it gets out of hand, let the Q&A carry on

i know you guys have been telling me not to buy etc, but I really want to buy :( Just my luck today happened to be the first day of school hols.

I mean, i'm sick of taking the mrt and bus, and not having the freedom of driving to malaysia for supper, roadtrips, relax etc. I have been trying my best to find the cheapest possible way for me to own a car, sorry if i made you guys think im a troll. All I wanted was to own a car the cheapest possible way, car owners like you guys wont understand, its easy for you to own a car and you get to enjoy the connivence of it. To me, i'd rather starve in order to own a car...doesnt have to be a sports model or anything, just something on 4 wheels can already...

Save up the whatever $$ u have and plan for better use in the future. No point follow the trend of getting car if you honestly cant afford it now.

No offense bro, with a 2K plus salary, having a car will kill u in time. No $$ for rest of your lifestyle. I am not talking abt the rich and famous way if u get what I mean.

Your monthly basic need will set u min $300 - $400 if you scrimp and save on every single bits. If you smoke then good luck too.

Your "Exit" move will only make dealers richer. They will only pay u scrap car value + few hundreds. Then they will take ur car and sell to another guy on the road. The story continues....

okay la guys, i've called up all companies and probably will go down and view car tmr then settle insurance and loan. Situation now probably mazda 6, unless insurance part they allow sports car unnamed drivers to claim then i'll go for rx8(35k OMV) or ralliart turbo. But on phone they dont allow :( maybe i need to make trips down. thanks for all advises. Ballon scheme is really a life-saver for those who want a short term drive of cars with high omv.

Unnamed driver for RX8 under AXA is around 2.8k with 20% NCD. I assume your parents have no NCD so it might be more than 2.8k.

if you are buying the car under your name .. then the insurance have to be under you. mean super expensive. unless you get your parents to be the owner of the vehicle then the insured driver will be them. as for unnamed driver, you will fall under the young unnamed driver side which mean excess will be a lot higher..
