MX5 is about drive. Unlike S2000.

Hehe. The controls, design inside are too similar to the mz2 2015. So except for the sitting position n drive train it feels very same to me.

And also I'm at e stage where a roadster is not practical for me now...

So I probably choose a brz/86 at this price.

The launch food was good though. Lol ... Saw a few 86, gtr yesterday

I was quoted by Garage R; I find the person in touch with me, June, very professional and they gave me all the specifications and equipment to know what i am in for. They also advised on which variant is best value for money.

Downpayment is 40k thou.

You might want to ask Garage R.

The other reliable PI i reckon is Vincar but have not approached them for MX5.

Seeing this late.

Not going to expand on this, it's purely my opinion based on personal experiences with them, but I would never deal with Vincar.

Garage R is OK I guess, but I have no idea what their business model is now. They used to do high performance Japanese car tuning, specialising in HKS parts. I don't know how good they are as PIs personally. June is an old bird though, but quite hard-nosed, especially when taking cars in for trade-in - but I guess they're all like that.

Yes, MX-5 is about drive, as is the 86/BRZ.

Whereas the S2000 is about... well, frankly I've never been able to figure out just what it's really about. It weighs more than the Miata, and by most accounts isn't as "fun" to drive. Yes, it's more powerful but considering that you need to rev it really hard to get at that power, and the lack of torque in the low-mid range, it's just not as engaging, IMO. Again, I haven't driven the S2K, always wanted to, so that could just be uninformed speculation. Maybe I'll buy one and give it a go. [laugh]

(I have driven the other cars - the MX-5 and the 86, and I like them both).

Supercharged

is quite well-spec'd, but I'll wait till it's at least < $150K.

or maybe wait till they bring in the 1.5L then compare and see if can be satisfied with just the 1.5L, then can save even more.

I saw some reviews online and some mentioned 0-100km/h timing for the 2.0 version at around 6secs+?

That quick for a Miata? when the previous one was 8secs for the 2.0.

Waiting for my Japanese SUV to hit 3years then selling it, most probably for this.

P.I bringing 1.5... $145K & $157K options..

doesnt make much difference. get 2L better..

I've always thought the S2000 is about matching the hairdresser's handbag.  Was I mistaken?
