Maseratigood 5th Gear August 21, 2013 Share August 21, 2013 i think the penalty should be: 1. Confiscate the car 2. revoke the license for 10yrs 3. Fines/Jail term These ppl will continue to drink and drive even getting caught!!! the best way is to take away their car so that they can drink all they want w/o causing hurt to the other road users... revoking their license for 10yrs to let them think hard and regret for doing this stupid act!! Maybe technology can help :- Just like some premises ban entry unless the visitor hand over his camera phone (some embassies do this), the guy entering the pub etc is required to drop his car key into a self-lockin key box which can only be opened later if the guy passes a breath test ↡ Advertisement
ChickenMob 6th Gear August 21, 2013 Share August 21, 2013 Just that some of the people thought that if they go back earlier they will avoid the road block but most of them are wrong. i had seen road blocks starting as early as 10pm behind joo chiat near onan road stretch and road blocks at 7am in the morning at kallang way before kallang MRT. those who are still trying their luck better think twice, not worth it as i got friends who got caught and 1 that was jailed for a 2nd offence. Maseratigood 5th Gear August 22, 2013 Share August 22, 2013 but how to differentiate who drive and who don't drive? or if the driver has hidden his car key somewhere else?? Polis can do spot checks.... Anyone found having car key inside the pub will be fined, his key detained.... Harsh but for the sake of road safety, it maybe necessary
Bobucw 2nd Gear August 22, 2013 Share August 22, 2013 Except for the Pub Owner,.... why should he be responsible? He's just running is business like everyone else.

Best is lie in ambush just outside carpark exit.....that way, TP can stop them before accident happens. Edited August 22, 2013 by Asd78

There are pubs located in isolated spots, or drink parties in private homes where the usual polis road blocks are unable to catch drunk drivers before they injure or kill innocent lives. These cases are difficult to detect. In-car breath test kit which immobilises the engine starter is useful but inconvenient, and the sober passenger can fool the kit and allow the drunk driver to drive. Looks like more heavy fines plus longer cool off period after cancellation of driving licence are the only practical deterents available. :( Edited August 22, 2013 by Maseratigood

annwal Neutral Newbie October 15, 2013 Share October 15, 2013 A large number of drunk drivers are being arrested many times. Numerous people think shaming terrible drivers is a great idea and more seem to be warming to the idea. A municipal court in Cleveland, Ohio, recently ordered a woman shamed for driving on the sidewalk to avoid a bus. Will you be in the market to sell or purchase a new or used auto? Darthrevan Supercharged December 14, 2013 Share December 14, 2013 Dont drink while driving, if want to drink, please drink before driving "don't drink and drive" is just not expressive enough to convey the exact meaning..the exact term used in UK/USA is "DUI - Driving under the influence" is much better and should be used locally
