2BDriver Hypersonic August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 (edited) the below is base i my own experience... I used to drive home without knowing how i get home when i was younger...it is very dangerous...i don't do that now...but i still drink and drive nowadays or in fact everyday..its a matter of how much i drink only...drink and drive have become part of my life already...and it have also become part of my life that when i drink and drive....i will pay special attention when driving and drive within the speed limit...i drive more dangerously when i have not drink...drink driving is of course one of the reason for accident...but my personal view is that all more important goes down to the nature of the person...if he is a aggresive driver...he will also drive aggresive when he is sober...but then i also cannot disagree that a person sometime only show their true nature after drinking...so if don't drink and they don't show their true nature then accident will not happened... Bro Seaweed, My friendly advise, now a days Police are aware of funny tactics been use, don't bet on luck that you won't be stop and got into D&D traffic law penalty. I've too many buddies and relatives thinks the same too, drove slowly and carefully after drinking sessions, but other careless motorist hit them with injuries and both accident driver's must stopped to wait for Police and ambulance, some thinks smartly try to escaping and leave the accident scene for presenting another driver to answer the accident later, but eventually arriving police did good investigations with eye-witnesses and arrested the acting and actual drivers shortly at home or somewhere been reported by others. The risks are too high and grave for anyone to being punish likely.... lost of innocent lives, fine, jail, driving license revoke, loosing job, love one's sadden and shame in Public. Regards. Mcscot 5th Gear August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 well, rotan maybe a bit too much... i would suggest: caught drink driving first time (with no accident): confiscate car + licence gantung min 5yrs + fine min 10K up to 50K caught drink driving fist time with accident (no human involved, only damage property): confiscate car + licence gantung min 5yrs + fine min 20K up to 50K caught drink driving 2nd offender: confiscate car + licence gantung min 10yrs + fine min 50K + (court)jail min 6mth up to 1yr caught drink driving 2nd time with injury/casulty: confiscate car + licence gantung min 25yrs + fine min 50K up to 100K + (court)jail min 6mth up to 3yrs i think huge $$$$ fine will reduce the case... I totally agree. I think the current measures are not strict enough! Unfortunately, $$$$ to Singaporeans are not a huge deterence anymore. Singaporeans are loaded! A $10K fine will be nothing to them! I think some jail time will be a huge deterrent.

Darky8888 4th Gear August 21, 2013 Share August 21, 2013 i think the penalty should be: 1. Confiscate the car 2. revoke the license for 10yrs 3. Fines/Jail term These ppl will continue to drink and drive even getting caught!!! the best way is to take away their car so that they can drink all they want w/o causing hurt to the other road users... revoking their license for 10yrs to let them think hard and regret for doing this stupid act!! ↡ Advertisement
