My email to SVTA Dear Sir,May I know why there is an admin fees for used cars? Is it in the law thatbuyer must bear this fee? And why used cars dealer insist that this is acompulsory payment for customer to bear? There isn't any admin fees untilthe governor reduce the transfer fees to a standard fees of $11.00regardless of any make or model instead of 2% fee of the sale price. Whatis the point of reducing the transfer fees and in the mean timeintroducing a admin fees for customer to bear?Do we really have to bear this admin fee? Looking forward to your reply. SVTA to me We refer to your email. As for the admin fee that was mentioned in your email, all amount collection is depend on each individual company policy. Every car dealer have their own company policy on whether to collect the admin fee and they will decide on the amount on the collection. Cause im working in related industry ( automotive, 1 of the biggest player in sg ), so usually ill tell them if u wan me to pay admin fee ( $200,300,500 blah blah ), ill ownself apply hire purchase, ownself do insurance and lta transfer i also do myself. If they say cannot lah tis and tat, ill take out handphone calculator and count their total earnings frm all the deal. if insists on admin fee then no deal, cause in my opinion they earn enough from loan, markup and insurance liao ( easily few k ) still gt cheek want to charge 500 for "admin work", liddat i do myself better. Got kana those yaya papaya insist on admin fee and i walk away, but til nw i still see their car on sgcarmart diao.
