Well, this is the only Bentley wannabe I'd like to see...

Hell yeah. Who knew a Supra could look this good. I kinda like the Corvette like RX7 better.

Well done LTA!

Plse plse get those modded exhausts , illegal turbos, add on superchargers off the roads..... Heavily fine those souped up GTIs and Civics and Rexes....

And while doing that, dont forget those pesky non traffic law abiding electric bikes too.

Muayhahahahaha

Actually, I don't get why add-on turbos are illegal. I mean, not the reasoning that LTA gives (because, frankly, it's not as dangerous as LTA makes it seem), unlike why they ban sharp edges on the sides of vehicles (which could cause more bodily harm if the vehicle hit a pedestrian).

Personally, I don't think lup a turbo onto engine (exhaust and intake) should be illegal, especially if it's done by certified workshops.

Not everyone has the good sense to upgrade their brakes before they upgrade their car's power.

Just look at the amount of cars running upgraded front big brake kits, without doing anything with the rear.

Because many think they have good driving skills, which is far from the truth.

@ER-3682 and @fcw75, I understand all that you're saying. Like what @macrosszero said, a lot of people wouldn't upgrade their tires and brakes before upgrading for more power. But wouldn't it be the same when people chip up their already turbo-ed vehicles?

Anyway, it's just my thoughts.

(I'm not serious about legalising everything. There will definitely be innocent people hurt.)

Supercharged

i hate drivers with bright headlights. these people are very inconsiderate for blinding other road

users around him. it also pose danger to some who might cause few seconds of blindness.

i also notice that bikers like to tilt their bike headlight higher so just to catch attention from the driver.

Me too. I think LTA bikes pang gang at 5pm.

Daytime always can see LTA bikes catching modded cars.

But at night where most drivers turn on their bright headlights, I have never seen any LTA bikes at night,

Have you guys?

Because all too often - the rest of the car is not set up to handle the additional power -

With everything from brakes, suspension, transmission, cooling system, not to mention the space behind the wheel.

If the turbo upgrade is done as part of a comprehensive range of performance mods that's a bit difference - but then, generally speaking you are depending on the skill of the installation to make sure that everything works well together. When it comes from the manufacturer / installed in the factory a far greater level of testing has been done.

Honestly -- as much as I think the LTA is too draconian, I cannot support the idea of simply "lup turbo" for more performance - mostly it is not a very good idea.

Quite random. I've seen an LTA guy camped out on Pasir Ris Drive 1 looking for "illegal" cars in the morning at 10am. Saw him speed off once a Civic R drove by.

Also got spot check on Drive 1 when I drove at around 3am.

By rights - "chip up" not exactly legal either right? Just that it's hard to detect by visual inspection (unless of course is a piggyback ecu)

In any case - a chip changes the engine management, which is very different to adding a new component. (I'm thinking of dangers of poor installation to engine reliability etc)

Actually I think their reason is because not all cars are designed to handle this kind of power. Anyway I did think of that before and from what I read, it seems like adding turbo is legal if you can get the car manufacturer to certify that the turbo you want to add is suitable for the car and the emissions can still pass their test after the modification. Heard from the workshop I go to that some people did manage to get turbo for their vios cuz toyota did have a turbo vios in the past.
