Very strange selection by BR. Apparently Lucas starting ahead of new boy Can and Allen.

Leaked line up:- Mignolet, Manquillo, Skrtel, Lovren, Johnson, Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge

Likely 4-3-3 but can easily be a diamond if Sterling pushes up and Coutinho as the tip

Bayern's technical director Michael Reschke is in Rome right now to talk to Roma about Mehdi Benatia, according to Sport 1.

Man Utd apparently looking at him

Portuguese side Sporting want winger Nani in exchange for Marcos Rojo making a move to Man Utd. (Times)

If true, no reason why Man U would not accept such proposal

Other than Can who had a quiet game against Dortmund, this is the same line up as that match which

Pool played well so Pool fans shld be having high hopes if they display the same flair n teamwork tonight. Shld be a 4-3-3 n the fluency of Sterling, Coutinho n Sturridge shld see Pool prevail. That said football has a funny way of biting you back as can be seen last night where Arsenal were the only home winners out of 7 games played. City also hv a tough game tonite!

Above is correct. Subs are: Jones, Toure, Sakho, Allen, Ibe, Can, Lambert.

Yup, on change from the last friendly.

Southampton team: Forster, Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Bertrand, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, S Davis, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Pelle.

Interesting to see how Bertrand play, he might have something to prove. Also keep an eye on Tedic, very highly rated in the Dutch league apparently

Yes I also interested in seeng Bertrand n also how saints cope with the loss of players. Also saints goalie Fraser Forster first time playing in EPL I think even though he's English!

BTW in case u hv not heard, seems they now hv a 15min round up of Sunday games on mon morning between 7 to 9am so no excuses for missing the goals! Enjoy the game!

Well deserved lead.

Saints playing a very discipline game. Need to be wary of their set pieces, quite a physical side.

Manquillo continues to impress, but might have to curb his agressiveness a bit

Great goal from Clyde.

Lucas got to put his hand up for that one.

Second half Southampton clearly the better side. Pool really need to step up

Liverpool are very very lucky to get the win.

Saints deserve something from this game for the way they fight back.

Pool lost their direction in the ssecond half after Saints step up the pressure. During the period leading to their equaliser, they are dominating, bossing the midfield.

Introduction of Allen helped to control the midfield better. Lambert added physical prescence to the front line.

SAS managed to earn us 3 points but this performace is for from the best the team is capable of.

Turbocharged

Johnson n lucas has to go. Johnson continues to b sh1t like last season. Lucas though i like him, he seems clueless now. Mayb no desire since he knows hes gonna b sold. Should hv started with allen if rodgers not too sure abt emre.

Not sure why Lucas ahead of Allen or Can. I would think that Can isn't fully fit. Else his physique would be better matched with Saint's.

Johnson's time is almost up. He might not have started if Moreno's paper work came in time.

Our midfield today is not up to mark. Wanyama and Schnerlderlin did much better.

3 hard earned points. Next week against City will be a cracker

Javier Manquillo has been impressive on debut. 86% pass accuracy, 4 interceptions, 8 clearances, 4 blocks. Solid.

This is why Johnson will stand no chance getting that right back slot back.

Newcastle playing quite well so far. New signings still lack understanding among one another which is expected.

That back heel pass from Dzeko is just sublime
