If can get him between £12-£15m I can accept. He is definitely an upgrade over GJ.

Pretty ok with Ings too as he is an upgrade over Borini. Milner for his work rate and experience, no issue if the rumoured wage is £100kpw.

I seriously don't want Benteke. Not that he is a crap player but he doesn't suit our way of playing. If we are to change our way of playing for him, the one being sacrificed will be Coutinho

Ryan Babel firing pot shots at the possibility of Rafa taking over at Real.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/liverpool-ryan-babel-rafa-benitez-5777702

I said this before that Rafa is JM no. 2, almost as pragmatic but not so dramatic.

It's not wrong to take this approach as can be seen with JM and also Rafa's record but to be Manager of Real Madrid is a BIG task which countless big Managers before have tried with a mixed degree of success and thereafter fallen by the wayside like JM, CA, Pellegrini, Del Bosque etc.

A lot of big egos there and IMO Rafa is not the right fit as his style of play won't suit RM, not to mention he sometimes rubs players the wrong way with his asking them to track back, man management etc.

We shall see if I'm right..........

Agree that in Real, handling the players requires lots of EQ and is not a straight forward matter. This is not RB strong traits. The one who did well in this area just got fired by Real. So I do not think RB will do well over there.

If you ask me, based on his demand, Rafa is telling Perez that he is not interested in a short term job to warm the seat for ZZ.

I agree too that Rafa's idea of playing might not suit the players at Real Madrid. To him, it is about the team, not the individual player. If you want to play in his team, you follow his game plan, stick with his tactics.

Let's wait till he gets the job first. Doesn't seem to be 99% confirm as some are saying.

not really proven but I guess south americans usually do well.... but I believe porto has been courting arsenal to bid for Jackson Martinez rather than the other way round

You want proven one? Why not Benteke? Sherwood told him to aim higher than Liverpool and Arsenal confirm is higher :D

Release clause : £32.5m

The end of season review, which will determine Brendan Rodgers fate, wont begin until next week at the earliest. [Liverpool Echo]

BR already had a review with Mike Gordon. Nothing came out from there and led to most believe that BR is safe.

I still believe that Gordon, although tasked with the running of LFC, can't decide on the fate of BR. Next week at Boston will decide. D-Day I heard is 3 Jun

we will all be glued here, waiting for O23 update :yuush:

Ya bro, think you are right, reading between the lines; RB wants a longer contract and not be a seat warmer.

Back to Pool and IMO the best 2 available men for the job is

1) Ancelotti

2) Klopp

IMO Rafa can only come into the picture if no DoF.

The above 2 can work with a DoF. CA is a really top Manager, plays good football, good man manager and good PR skills with the press and fans alike. He's an owner's dream cos he manages with the tools available to him and is not demanding. The 2 crazy clubs who removed him just don't know what they lost. That said, Casillas didn't seem to be too happy with him the previous season.

Guess you can't please everyone.

Klopp very similar to CA in terms of his philosophy and strengths. Good team builder as well. I also have high regards for him and in my books he comes second only cos CA has EPL experience and also overall CA has managed in the top 3 leagues before so he wins cos of this. My 2 cents and we shall see.......

hard to see ancelotti taking over a team not in the C.L

unless a huge fee promised to him to do a overhaul
